Didn't take ya long to get this posted!

Mad Hatter 09-02-2003 10:24 AM

I might be going.

Whitey 09-02-2003 10:54 AM

I will be there.. There is a new No Wake. It is upriver from Brower and is only marked near shore. So as you leave Brower and turn RT it is about 1mile to it and is about 200 ft long.

Mad Hatter 09-02-2003 10:56 AM

HEY PERFECT! Whitey can you bring that 27 three blade with you?

KAAMA 09-02-2003 11:22 AM

I will most likely be there. BTW, This is about the THIRD THREAD on Hardy Dam!

Whitey 09-02-2003 06:13 PM

Mad Hatter that will be no problem, I will load it in my truck tonight.

MACDAD260 09-02-2003 09:01 PM

Saturday is the day for me.

The weather is supposed to be better on Saturday, too.

Doug

Tom Earhart 09-02-2003 09:11 PM

I'll be there Friday night and hope to stay all weekend or until I break something. Has anyone heard if Eliminator 219 is going to show?
Thanks, Tom

Tinkerer 09-02-2003 10:05 PM

I will be there saturday

Waterfoul 09-02-2003 10:10 PM

Hardy Dam Run

Tom Earhart
I will not be at Hardy this year.
I had a great time and met a lot of great people last year. but at the same time I have already made plans to go on the c.o.p.s. run between Chicago and Michigan City on the same date as the Hardy Run..
I answered a post to you already that I am planning on doing the River Run at the end of the year, the one that you went to last year and had some great runs with your turbo.l'm looking forward to meeting you and some of the other go fast rockets that I hear do the River Run.
Please keep me informed as to when it will be if you happen to hear.
In the meantime, be careful and safe, see you later on!!:D

Roughly 2.5 hours or so.

Eliminator219,

If it is too rough on Lake Mich for the COPS run to Michigan City you and anyone else should still try and make Hardy as an alternate plan.

MAX VELOCITY 09-03-2003 10:39 AM

HPJUNKIE,
We are heading up out of LaPorte/Michigan City IN, and it takes about 2.5-3 hours depending on how many stops and how fast you drive.

Looking forward to meeting a lot of the OSO members up there.

Mad Hatter 09-03-2003 12:28 PM

I'm going saturday too, when is everyone else planning on getting there?

MAX VELOCITY 09-03-2003 03:09 PM

We are heading up Friday morning and staying through the weekend. It will be myself (Velocity), a couple of checkmates, and a baja. We are camping at Brower and will probably be hanging out around the launch Saturday morning.

nautigirl 09-03-2003 05:47 PM

Mad Hatter - Are you from Team Motion? If so I love your racing team sticker on the back of the boat:p :D .

We (rschap1 and I) will hopefully get there early - 10 or 11 am on Saturday.

Red Stripe - You and Jaci coming?

Mr. Gadgets, you better!!

Been along time since we've seen Check300 - are you out there Bill??

Look forward to seeing everyone!!:)

Mr Gadgets 09-03-2003 05:51 PM

We, the Mrs and I, are planning on being there Sat and Sunday. I will be removing the broken parts before I go this year.

Looking forward to seeing everyone!!

Dick

check300 09-03-2003 05:54 PM

As of right now I am planning on being there on both Sat. and Sun. Going to try to get there about 10 or 11 Sat. morning.

KAAMA 09-03-2003 06:01 PM

I am planning on being there at about 10am Saturday. My guest crew will be showing up around noon.

Red Stripe 09-04-2003 03:22 AM

Hey Nauti Girl,

Sorry we missed you guys for the races but I have a small fuel leak in my gas tank that needs to be taken care of. So the chances of us going to Hardy is slim.

My buddy Tigger is trying to get me to tow his Scarab up to the pond so I might still show. Not sure yet.

dyno 09-04-2003 05:42 AM

Cops run Saturday I might run up Sunday....

Mad Hatter 09-04-2003 10:34 AM

Nautigirl- No my dad is part of the team. I'm friends with the guys from team motion.

Whitey 09-04-2003 01:54 PM

By any chance does anyone have a pair of 26 b1's laying around? I would like to try a pair. Thanks Dwight

check freak 09-04-2003 05:17 PM

I will be coming with Max Velocity and Blown Check. I am starting to get really excited. Can't wait to me some fello osoer's. I will in a white 242 convincer with a black horse head on the side.

Check

RSCHAP1 09-08-2003 08:24 AM

What did I miss??

We left Hardy before 8 pm Sat. night... Didn't see Earhart or Check300, did they make it? Heard stories of a large fight @ Consumers beach and a crash into the Dam? Hope everyone is OK!!

JimV 09-08-2003 10:01 AM

It was a great time at Hardy, I got spanked by the blower guys but made them work for it. What happened to the sunsation with the twins? There was a Baha and a Power Quest that ran good (single engine 26' range). I would have liked to talk to them but I couldn't get off plane.

check300 09-08-2003 10:12 AM

My son and I got to Brower about 10:30 Sat morning and ran all day. We left about 7pm that night. Had a hard time getting lined up with people wanting to race but did manage a few. Looked all over for the Sunsation that Jim mentioned but couldn't find him either. We raced one cat that was white with purple and beat him the first time. When we went at it a second I think he might have broke something cause he just stopped after getting some air. Seemed like a lot of people were there for the party atmosphere and not to go fast.

KAAMA 09-08-2003 10:21 AM

Yeah, that 32' Sunsation with the stepped hull and blower engines was dang FAST---he's probably pushing 100mph or so. Don't feel bad JimV cuz I took a spanking from him, you, an HTM and a Skater with outboards! It was all in good fun of course and I had a blast.

We tossed an anchor out in the back portion of that cove/lagoon and stayed clear of the heavy partying. Then Steve/Tinkerboater idled in with his 34' Scarab has he tied off and rafted up to us then another little 18 footer with a 350 called "Runnin' Hot" (Bob & Sue from Chicago) and a couple they were with came over to chat and raft off with our group. We sat there and ate sandwiches and drank cold sodas for a while. There was A LOT of traffic coming through there so you had to be watching closely and if you had to do any manuvering you had to do it SLOOOOWLY or you could get into trouble in a hurry!

I never saw so many performance boats since I have been going up there! After I launched the boats just kept coming and coming! I'm sure it gets busier every year---it was a lot of fun watching all the boats and running the along the river.
I arrived at around 10:30am and was back on the trailer and headed for home by about 5:15pm or so. I didn't hear of any trouble or mishaps other than that a friend of a friend hit a under water stump and bent the skeg of one of his drives as he was running up river past the bridge. I had an enjoyable time with my friends.

JimV 09-08-2003 10:54 AM

Hey Bill

Were you able to root on it? How fast?

check300 09-08-2003 12:56 PM

Yup we really ran it hard all day. Still need some tuning in the higher rpm range. Saw 102 at just over 5700. Still thinking we're going to be able to turn 6300 or so. Jim, think you're going to try to go to Alum Creek Oct. 4? Tom and i are both planning on making the trip.

Mad Hatter 09-08-2003 02:06 PM

I got spanked pretty bad by a chckmate without a deck hatch on, I'm pretty sure I heard blower whine but that might be my ego trying to regain itself. He got the jump on me and let off before i could get trimmed out, but I wasn't gonna catch'em regardless.

I had a Nordic challenge me with JimV in chase but my dear old dad was in the boat and gets freaked when I hammer on it. He's becoming a pansy in his old age, thats what happens when you've got 38 cigarette that feels like a brick going through the water.

I had several boats come flying up next to me and then back off when they saw it was a Velocity. It kinda pissed me off, the only guys that wanted to race me were boats that were way faster than me, or we got stuck in traffic. Still had a fun day though.

Whitey 09-08-2003 04:28 PM

Mad Hatter,
How did the prop work out for you? Sorry I lost you in the crowd. Dwight

MACDAD260 09-08-2003 05:01 PM

Fights??? Crashes??? I guess I missed all of the good stuff. The cove/beach was wild and there was lots of good racing to watch. I saw Kamma and Jim V going at it as well as the SST Baja and the Skater with outboards. Lots of others too. My friend with an 80+ mph Check 251 had his coil blow up so I never got to see him surprise anybody. All in all it was a good time.

rws 09-08-2003 07:24 PM

My friend Kenny From Toledo had a Blue/White 24 Skater with Merc. 280's .Did any of you guys run Him?

Rob

MACDAD260 09-08-2003 07:38 PM

The one I saw like that had twin 2.5 Mercs on it. He had a pretty good looking crewmember as well. He was the one that looked to be whoopin' on most everybody. Could that be him?
