Stupidest question asked about your boat.

This isn't so much as a stupid thing but, when I had my Mirage I was backing it out of the boat launch when an older gentlemen with guests in an older restored Cobalt said "hey thats a really nice boat". I barely heard him over the exhaust. Instead of being a snob or stuck up SOB, I said to "it is not nearly as nice as yours, you own a Cobalt" It gave him the biggest smile, and made him look good in front of his guests.
That is one of my favorite moments boating.

I just remembered this one.
These 2 guys drive by me last year in our party cove.
One guy yells, "HEY! Is that a Fountain?"
I say, "No"
His buddy punches him on the arm (hard) and says, "Hahaha you dumbass, I told you it's a BAJA!!!!!!!!"

now, I must say I'm very cool with most people because they have never seen this type of boat before.
Just didn't have Patience that day.

I turn my head and look at Maximus on the trailer. Looked back at them (his chick looked at me with an

Due to some comments by the "geriatric set" around my dock, I now have a sign on the dock that sez"If it's too loud, then you are too old!! "
I haven't had a remark made since putting that up!

we were race patrol again this year at the grand haven races. 3 high school buddies join me once a year on my boat for this event.
we were patrolling before the race and one anchored spectator boat captain said " ask that guy what he wants for his boat" he pointed at the 38 donzi for sale who was also a race patrol and stationed next to me. so when i cruised by the donzi i said. "that guy is interested in your price"
the young captain said 87. i asked "with a trailer" he said "no, but a shore station."
as we trolled back to relay the message. my buddy said
$8,700.. ??
i politely said " no, $87,000."
it was an aukward kind of silence.........
i did get $50 in gas money that day!!!!!!!
I think i'll invite them again next year....
