38' Fever 2/850HP, how fast
We are currently installing a pair of 850HP SC engines in a 38' Fever w/ XR's. Anyone have experience w/ these. How fast? We are thinking about 105. Any feedback?

Better have spare drives!!!!!! Just in case. Best of luck!!!!

i'm thinking somewhere around the 80mph @5000rpms
|
These engines make 850HP @5500. The boat runs 82MPH @ 5200 w/ 500HP's.

Best guess would be just north of 100. Maybe more but I doubt 105.
|
My guess is 110 or more and a hell of a ride !!!!!

I agree with fountain38sc around 100. Probably not over 100mph on gps. Those drives will not hold up under that load. You'll need a speedmaster or at least a B-max.

Nobody Knows!!
Mike Carter is correct ,,,,, Which 38,,, what yr
3 diff spds,,,,, Pre 96,, 95mph Stepped 96-2001 103 +or- 2002 or newer 105+ and Kiss your AS%$%^&* goodby easy up and easy down ,, dont launch and u might make a few passes with good XRs RHC |
Mike I agree about the 42 w/900sc speeds. I don't know what the Merc 900sc dynos at but... I have never seen an engine that claimed to have 900 or even 1000 hp (except for KE & Sterling) come close to the merc 900sc power.
My experience with fountains are when you get over 900 (real) hp the 42 is as fast as a 38 or a 35 (I don't know why). I other words wouldn't the 38 fever with the same power and drives be about as fast as a new 42' fountain? |
Let me make one more point here...The V bottom APBA kilo record holder is a 42' fountain not a smaller model. 142mph I believe.
