A lot of boat for the money is a 34 Super Hawaii. I know there are a few around LOTO there was a dealer there back when they were built. I've seen a few with very low hours sell in the low $40k range.
Mine handles the Lake Michigan very well!

BTW that formula you posted a link to will need the Bravos updated to handle the HP of those 525s The new Bravos will handle that power much better. upgrading the upper gears and clutches will run you $1200-1500.

Payton,

That Formula came from here in Toledo. It had 650hp Sterlings. The owner took out the motors before he traded it. I don't know if the drives were upgrded or not. I would have to believe they probably were.

Huge difference in a twin 28's ride than a single. Mostly the extra 1200 lbs in motor and drive. But, the greatest advantage in rough water running is in the length. Ability to span the wave crests and not have the floor drop out. It would be silly to jump into another 28 other than trying another flavor....

Going to need a close to pair of 500's in each to break 70 consistently.

Have you considered a 29 Outlaw??? 454 mags would get it close to 70 and it would be a newer boat. Might be a little more money, but would probably save you some some in the long run.

it seams everyone bashes Baja's so i havent given it much thought.

but , in the real world (away from oso) they seam to be popular.

There are some great buys on 29 Outlaws right now. 2004 is the last year of them with the new 30 coming out so a lot of people will be wanting to upgrade. My bet is you could find a 2000-2001 29 with 454 mags in the 60's. Remember the 29 Outlaw is a full 29. It does not have an integrated swim platform and they ride great. (true V) You might want to stay away from pre 2000 29's due to some stringer issues. 29 with 454 mags should run 72-75 gps with a light load.
