Hydromotive does make their own props! They are not reboxed! Hydromotive designs and markets their own props and they own the molds to the props. Only the foundry work is sub contracted out. The Herring, Hydromotive and Mercury 5 blade props are all different. The blades have different designs and pitch progression as well as different cupping.

By the way the Hydromotive 5 blades are now available in 33 and 34 pitch.

Michael, The motors were 525's.
Props were off 80, tacks were off 120, and the motors were off 60, all in the same direction. So I replaced the tacks with digitals and tweaked the one prop. The power loss was the Corsa tips, now the're gone and gained at least 3 mph.
How are you doing?

Check new post on labbing sportmasters.

John B I had a similar problem about 15yrs ago. First time in the water for the season one motor down 500rpm and speed down 5mph. Chased the problem all summer. As it turned out no problem to fix one bad tach and bad speedo but it sure did drive me nuts trying to find the problem.
Any how doing well but having prop issues of my own Threw a blade off my good props 15x34 labs that ran 109+mph. Working with 3 other sets including yours. Matt and Julie at throttle up have been very helpful. Still I have only seen a best of 105.2 so far. Matt cut 3/4'' of diameter of those cleavers you sold me but interestingly enough the rpm did not really come up. Guess we will cut some blade area next.
Keep us up to date on your skeg work results.

You may want to try one of mercs lab 2 1/5 blade cleaver. It don't work worth a dam but it is cheap

Don't you love it when they break from the back to the front? Thats when they like to hit the cavitation plate too!

John I feel lucky all I lost was the carrier bearing. About $300 O yea the prop. Hey Julie can you fix it?:D

The last time I was at hydromotive, they were taking props out of a yellow box that said turbo and putting them their own box that said hydromotive.

Ted: As Throttle-Up said: "Only the foundry work is sub contracted out." I own a 27pitch and a 29pitch 5 blade Hydromotive (labbed by Throttle-Up.) I won't touch anything else. I don't care who pours the steel.
