Whats the weather like in Alabama in November?

Absolutly beautiful,Orange Beach is about as far south as you can get in Alabama. We are 300miles north and we boat till December. Should be quite pleasant.

Fred,where do you find all this stuff? :) I was going to repost 60 to 70 and you come with temp to one decimal place :). But it will be nice weather. We were there once for Thanksgiving and walked along the beach comfortably.

Great plan and post from APBA on what must be a very difficult situtation. I am sure not every one understands the problems with power boat race promoters, but they are all affected by their actions. I am sure APBA will react in a positive manner to make sure this will not happen again ever. Go Orange Beach, Al. and the 2004 Season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!

Hmmm, let see, it's 466.9 miles and 7 hours 11 minutes to Burger King in Orange Beach, then it's 415.2 miles and 6 hours and 23 minutes to BK in KW. Not a heck of a lot of difference for me.:) And I can tell you from experience, that 6/23 is VERY optimistic. Besides, I've never been to OB, but I've been to KW many times. If I'm not up to my butt in work at that time, we'll take a ride up there.

Been going to KW since 84' ( except 1997, bad, bad bike accident, woke up after two days on life support, was glad to see they were able to put my right arm and leg back together, 30 broken bones , lost a lung, in the hospital for 28 days ect.... happened in sept. one of the first things on my mind, once it started to work again, was DAMN IT, I'M GONNA MISS THE WORLDS, true story) I've had the same room at the Ocean Key House for eleven years, I've met and made friends from all over the country.............There is simply no place like KW during race week. I have so many things in place (babysitters, ect...) we will probably still go.

BTW we were planing on running down with the Florida Powerboat Club, I wonder what happens with that ?

I have to agree. There are 8 of us booked & airline to Key West.
We are going to KeyWest!!!!!
Some friends are coming down on their cruiser boat from mid FL. to hook up with us. My buddy has a brand new 36ft Carver boat sitting in the slip just waiting for us to go snorkleing or scuba diving or bar hoping.
Hope to see some of you down there!!!.;) ;)

KY group has made up their mind ,"Orange Beach" look out here we come.

Totally Sux. I will be in KW. Everything is already coordinated with my group and paid for. Guess I'll be relaxing and doing the "Duvall Crawl"

Who has actually been to both sites? Can anyone give me any feedback on this?

Florida Powerboat Club will have more boats in KW than there are Race boats in OB. A lot of the pleasure boats are faster to. My Cigarette will make the beautiful run to KW.

Maybe you guys can put on the Race!

We will be in Key West!! Sounds like there might be some kind of a race even if it isn't sanctioned. We have too many reservations tied down.

I believe Alabama is better KW is further to travel from Texas.

Killed my KW plans. I know I'll go to LA, just not sure when, or for how long. Will be in Vegas for the week before for the SEMA show.

well . . .i will be in key west. a friend of mine has already made all the reservations for our group. i'm sure we will be able to find somthing to do while we are there. :D :D :D . . . now i just need to weasle a boat ride from someone, i got gas money an beer. . . better take the gas money though cuz i will prolly drink all the beer :p :D

I will be where the big race is and that sounds like Orange Beach, AL. I have never seen a race before so I look forward to that and I have never been to Orange Beach, AL.
To tell you the truth I have never been to Key West so I guess I will not even know what I am missing.

OCG, you should come here to St Pete for the Nationals. We have way better beaches than KW, and the weather should still be quite warm.

The Vinoy. The wet pits are right in front of it, and the course is right off it.

The Vinoy is THE place. But, if you are cash strapped and want to be close, try the "Ponce de Leon Hotel". It is a funky old hotel. If it's good enough for Dr. Santiago, it can't be all that bad. It is within walking distance of the Pier and The Vinoy. I would stay there again.
