I am ordering mine literally tomorrow!!
I work for a supplier of the truck. I had the opportunity to participate in the ford "WOW" tour in which they held an event for the dealers in that particular state. the tour is traveling the country.
the frame is truly 9 times stiffer than last year and in fact stiffer than the dodge 1/2 ton.
0.6" of twist from my weight (180lbs) on the frame corner on the demonstration vs. dodge at 1.2" of difflection. The toyota - 8 inchs plus of twist.. a noodle!!!!
the new coil over front suspension and outboard rear shocks make for a truck that corners like a car!!! and VERY little axle hop over the washboards in a 30mph corner.
300 hp 3 valve per cylinder engine with inproved tranny for the torque (WHICH IS THE SAME DRIVE TRAIN AS THE F250 BY THE WAY!!!!!) It can't compare with the deisel, i'm not trying to....
I am concerned about tire clearance. the dealer is going to install 33" BFG's for me at delivery. I am going to SEMA before my truck arrives and hope to see what tires are on the trucks there. I know that truck will be all over SEMA, just like H2 was last year.
they did a demo at the WOW tour where the new ford dragged the Dodge, Chevy, and Toyota trucks around the block in a tug of war, one after the other. kinda cool. demonstrator claimed they ordered the competitors to match as close as they could with engine/tranny/axle/tires for the comparison.
(i.e. the dodge had the HEMI)
I'm sold.
the towing for 2x4 is now 9900 lbs. seams ford was holding out . got into a towing capacity war with Nissan and their truck. one-upping each other till ford said 9900. 9600 for the 4x4 due to the extra 300 lbs of 4x4 hardware.
what i have not confirmed is if that requires the heavy payload option. dealer says not. but i knew more that him about some details.

I looked at one the other day.I think they are pretty nice, everything is expensive as hell these days,Ford did say this truck was going to be more than the previous F-150.I wouldn't mind having one,the interior is very cool, big change from anything thats ever been in a pickup.
