it the hull that makes the differance, the motors can be in any boat that will handle that much power (not many out there)

Isn't the 42 OL like 4 feet longer than the 42 Fountain also? 2 for the beak and 2 for the swim platform.

Is there a half cabin in the OL?

(put it in a tiger, lets see what happens)
I knew this was going to come from someone. Plain and simple, a huge accomplishment by Outerlimits. Sure the boat had 1480 hp motors but what about the other brands, have they had huge power but not good results, or is it only OL they put this amount of power in? What motors did the fountain have in it that held the kilo record until this weekend?

The fountain that set the old kilo mark was a raceboat with a pair of 1700 hp blower motors not a pleasure boat. I am sure if some other manufacturer could run those speeds they would have done it by now.

Congrats to Mike Fiore and his crew. Those are some real impressive numbers.

Just a question here, What are the differences between a race boat and a pleasure boat?
Neither of them have a cabin,I'm sure they both run on race gas, crashboxes or transmissions, one of them has seating for more than two and possibly a stereo.
I think the term "pleasure" boat might be thrown around a little too loosely. How about purpose built or poker run boat?
