Default Formula Boats

Hi

I am in the UK and interested in performance boats. I have been to the states and done poker runs in some 40 foot machines but have now a 15 foot offshore circuit racing boat with a 115hp mercury that hits about 60mph in sea conditions, just about its maximum hull design speed.

Ive looked at Uk sites but with no luck and want to hear your views and thoughts to how good the Formula Fastech racing boats are. Ive heard that they regularly win national championships F1 and world championships and do well in poker runs.

Are they up their with the best in terms of performance ( outright speed and handeling) and are they built well.

Im thinking of importing a 382 with twin 500 engines.

any thoughts comparisons would be much appreciated

Thanks

Kevin

Im my opinion, Formula Boats are one of the finest mass produced boats out there and the price shows it. They are not typically the fastest because that is not their primary goal. Outerlimits and Nortek are probably even better and priced higher still but they are more in the custom boat line.

Hi

thanks for your response, Ive heard nothing but good things about their build quality ride etc and have seen in the UK a couple of 15 year old ones that still look show room condition which possibly proves this theory

may be its the one for me

Thanks

I have owned two Formulas and agree with the comments above. They have extremely high build quality and perform well. There are faster boats out there but the ride and handling of a Formula are hard to beat. Good luck in your purchase

There have been a few Formula threads on OSO before!
I have raced the 35' Fast Tech and feel its one of the best built boats on the market. The boat also is back up by a Great company. Jo
