On the page they spell Organization with a Z, but on the domain registration, its with an S. More of the European spelling. European sounding name too, not that that means much.......This is sounding a bit funky.
I only have a 22' boat, so i guess i cant play. Damn.

all this is totally and utterly unrealistic. 300 boats... crazy entry fees... crazy prize money... i wish somebody used his energy to come up with something realistic and credible. Just relaunching this route as a nice, well organized race with say 30 boats and enough prize money to cover the winner's costs in each category would be a damn good start. The most important thing is to make sure that this gets extensive media coverage and this will attract more racers than crazy amounts of prize money nobody believes in anyway. Secondly, what is this stage-race deal? If I want to run a marathon, I don't want to do it by running 3 miles each day, I want to do it all at once. This is about endurance and I'm sorry but 200 miles is not an endurance run. Given nice weather, some guys will get that done in well under 3 hours so what's the point. It's not an adventure and then you may as well go to a poker run and have just as much fun for less money. People might say that one doesn't have the chance of winning that much money in a poker run but just you wait. When it becomes obvious that there won't be 300 boats and when and if everything comes down to earth a little bit, when the organizers do their cost accounting seriously, 10 mil. will be long forgotten. And unfortunately, this wonderful race route will also be forgotten for another ten years because the proposition just isn't serious enough. I mean, the acid test is to take someone who has all the prerequisites required to participate in this. I have a boat which is pretty well suited for this job and I have three friends who can share the costs and I can even come up with a private sponsor. And I am still not even convinced enough to pick up the phone and ask for more info. Think about it: if you saw an ad promising something like a factory boat with standard HP525 power running 200 mph, would you even bother considering it? And unfortunately, 300 boats and millions and millions of prize money is just as crazy. If somebody has a realistic idea to set this race up like in the old days, contact me, count me in, I'm up for it and willing to help out in the organization process. But if we're gonna dream all day, forget it!
