Try going to the dealer and asking the techs if they want it for $500. If its worth $2500 someone might want it that can fix it cheap. Use www.nadaguides.com I feel its values to be more accurate than kbb.

go to teh guys in eth shop at car dealer sthey will generally buy them cheap and fiux them and sell them

Price the truck at trade-in value and advertise it with a good picture in Trader. It'll move FAST.

Take good pictures of the Tbird (all exterior angles, interior dash, interior front seats, interior back seat, trunk, under hood, odometer) to the local Ford service department and ask the techs. Do the same at the trans shop in your town.

Dealers won't buy for their inventory unless you are selling at below low book on an item that should move quickly. Forget a dealer buying the Tbird.

Buy a $200 boneyard tranny for the bird, throw it in and sell it for twice as much. Its only a couple hour job.
