"I am getting info from various sources that this is a 470 engine and NOT 470hp. I apologise for any confusion. The 470 engine originally had 170hp but this was rebuilt, bored .30 over, so the hp has increased dramatically. I will be intouch with the owner later in the day (he's a teacher) and will try to determine the actual hp of this engine. No matter what the hp, this engine is still an animal.

Well, a 3.7 liter engine in a boat is nothing special, but that engine is almost a liter bigger than any 4 cylinder that was ever installed in car!
