Graphics ideas wanted!

1 Attachment(s)
It looks as though I will probably be keeping the Playboy.:D :D :D , but I was thinking about doing something different with the graphics.
I don't mind the Playboy scheme, but since it is just vinyl, I thought why not change it to something different and order the original stickers to have for later.
One thought I had was to put vinyl tribal type graphics in silver with white border on the side, and black with silver outline on the deck.
I really don't want anything too wild, as not to detract from the classic paint scheme it already has.
All the lettering is vinyl, except for the Cigarette Logo aft.

Any suggestions?
Have some fun with this one!;) :)

HiPerf2000 10-15-2003 10:06 AM

personally i wouldn't do a thing to that gorgeous machine.....

but a silver tribal graphic does sound cool on the black hull. :) maybe a photo shop guy (Nort) can mock something up for you.

SummerObsession 10-15-2003 10:59 AM

I don't want anything permanent. Some of the vinyl that is on the boat needs replaced anyway, so I was just kicking this around.
I like the photoshop idea!
Anyone with computer talent?
I have none.

cougarman 10-15-2003 11:12 AM

One Word

Maybe two.

Mither-T or Ryan Becklee.

Sorry if I spelled your name wrong Ryan.

How about some big red splotches ?!?!!?:D

Back4More 10-15-2003 12:16 PM

I would leave it cause its been on TV many times and has playmate history.( o )( o )
But if, I recommend Mitch too.;)

SummerObsession 10-15-2003 01:06 PM

Don't worry, no paint or permanent changes here! Just the vinyl.
The idea was tribal flames on the sides, white outline, silver flames.
That was just one, remember, I have no imagination.:p

SummerObsession 10-15-2003 04:12 PM

ttt

CAP071 10-15-2003 04:54 PM

SummerObsession 10-15-2003 07:57 PM

Well, i don't really want to say, but it starts with a Nor and ends with a Tech.:D :p :D
It could still happen. There is another boat that is VERY interesting as well.
Someone would have to step up to the plate and buy an immaculate Playboy first, though.

That was my immediate thought

The boat looks beautiful in Cord's post. I would peel the vinyl and be done with it. As much as I like the Playboy Cigs (Especially those floors) I've never been crazy about the big Playboy lettering.
This confirms it - look much better without.

cougarman 10-16-2003 08:44 AM

Tribal ?

We each have our own taste so I respect that.

Wouldn't the tribal thing be Apache style,
just never really seen it on any other boat
except apache?

No harm intended just my .02

SummerObsession 10-16-2003 08:56 AM

I know what you're saying CougarMan. What I meant was the stripes/flames in a "tribal" design, like you see on tons of custom Harleys.
I doubt if I would like it either, it was jsut a thought and why I wanted to see it in a photoshop type pic.
Cord, that actually looks awesome!

I don't think he is after the "indian warrior" type tribal stuff, but more like the modern art.

kinda like this:

or this ??

SummerObsession 10-16-2003 09:29 AM

YA, something like that tatefully applied perhaps.
Or, something completely different.
Remember, I have no artistic vision, and can't even draw a decent stick man!:p :p

Let me help... :D

Personally, I like it with plain black hull, Cig logo at the back. Just a classic look with some family resemblance. But I'm a minimalist kind of guy.

SummerObsession 10-16-2003 10:59 AM

Cord: You funny guy...me laugh long time.:p :D

dockrocker: Perhaps we are on the irght track here. I was thinking that a slightly smaller rabbit head that was sliver with a white outline (like the current lettering) more near the bow and that's it.
Just enough to keep the Playboy identity, but not over advertise;)
That might be cool.
dig the old classic race photo!!

SS930 10-16-2003 11:24 AM

Leave the bunny and ax the lettering!

Cord 10-16-2003 11:27 AM

Ok, here is the bunny up front. I flipped him around and tipped him back so the straight back was aligned with the bow angle.

I like this location better though.

SS930 10-16-2003 11:34 AM

I like the size and location of the original bunny from post #1.

SinkorSwim 10-16-2003 01:34 PM

I can't remember,,,,

It was either Memorial Day or 4th of July Weekend we seen you guys trailering in Eldon, MO. I wouldn't change a thing about the boat, I love the Playboy theme.

If you want to spend some money take it over to Scott & Ruben,, ...lol..

SummerObsession 10-16-2003 04:48 PM

That's on the books for this spring.;)

later 10-16-2003 05:11 PM

Summer O, which Nor-Tech were you looking at ? Terry from Nor-Tech had a 43 at the shoot out what a sweet boat. Im hoping to move to a different boat in the next year are so and the Nor-tech is high on my list.

SummerObsession 10-16-2003 07:04 PM

I had a couple 36 cats on my short list.
Can't really be too specific, as something may still happen.
There is also a great deal out there on a Skater, but I haven't got much info yet.
It's not officially on the market.;)

SummerObsession 10-16-2003 08:47 PM

That looks good!
Hey, it could be your boat!;) :p

thanks for the ideas.
This really helps. I really need to read "Photoshop for dummies" sometime.

Try a web site called LB Graphics. They have a huge selection. I got this graphic from there and then had a buddy of mine super size it for the side of my formula

SinkorSwim 10-17-2003 07:01 AM

Hey Summer O

If your looking for a cat,, head over to CPR, they might have something you'd be interested in. From what Ruben showed me; you won't be dissapointed...

SummerObsession 10-17-2003 07:56 AM

I wish I could. unfortunately it's a 9 hour drive for me.
However, being that far away, it might be saving me some money!:p :p

SinkorSwim 10-17-2003 08:18 AM

9 Hours

Shoot 9 hours is a 6 pack and a bag of Doritos away...lol

Here let me motivate you a little...

FRESH 1000 HP's,, with polished everything

#6's, and 40' of Douglas Marine fiberglass... :D ;) :p

SummerObsession 10-17-2003 11:43 AM

OOOohhhhhhhhhhhhh, that sounds sexy!

40' exceeds my self-imposed limit though. ;) :p :p

Back to the topic though.
Now that we have a blank canvas, does anyone else have any ideas?
No idea will go unstudied!
