I got a complete set of factory hides for a 1986 635CSi Bimmer for $1150 jobber cost in 1988. That's the bottoms and backs for both front buckets and the rear bench.

I'm only guessing that she needs the bottom hide.
Maybe cows have really gone up in price since then...

KS30

The spores caused the "dark red" leather to discolor to the darker side when viewed from the top. The spots varied in size from appx dime-sized to 2", with most of them having "grown into" the adjacent spot. The underside of the skins had greenish fuzzy stuff on them.

While particle accelerators might effectively deal with mold, Clorox is effective and much cheaper. A single drop of Clorox can also keep a cup of cappucino from growing funk in it even if it sits untouched on your desk coaster for month...

How soon did the spot appear? It sounds like it could just be a water spot. Has she tried conditioning the leather, ie: leatherique or connelly hide food?

If the car sits anytime in the sun and heat the mold will die... if it's really mold. I don't think it's mold but perhaps it's a dye issue with the original skin. BMW should take care of it. Ask for the regional rep...

Stain in the back seat
Maybe the answer has something to do with the location
