I got one as a gift last year...It's a fun toy, but it's not going to break any speed records if that's what you're wondering about. One of these days I want to put it up against Cig1's R/C Fountain and leave him in my wake..

It gets on plane and goes faster than I thought it would, but it's definitely not as fast of some of the serious (and more $$$) R/C boats I have seen. If you just want to use it as something fun to play around with from time to time it's great. If you really want to get into R/C boats, then you might be better off with something else.
