Boat ride from He!!.....
 

Well as some of you know I'll be in South Florida for Thanksgiving.....family deal the wifes Grand Mother lives there and has yet to meet our daughter who turned 2 on Friday last week so off we go! Up till the Birthday party this past weekend I thought it would be a great trip then it happened.......My mother-in-law who is a tryed and true Tree hugger informs the familt that she would like to rent us a boat......I thought Cool!!a nice sport fisher center councel would be great. Then she drops the BOMB! We love to rent a pontoon boat and ride up the intercoastal to Stuart .....what!!! thats Manatee zone city!!!!!a 2 hour ride in a governed pontoon with my mother-in-law through Manatee country!!!! HELP ME!!!!! Seeing as though I'll not be able to bring my own gun to end it all could one of you guys deliver one to me at the Jupiter Beach Resort? just before I have to leave for the ride?????If I cant end it all I could always go Manatee hunting.... I here they taste like chicken!!!

Oh man!!! buy yourself a tube and about 100' of rope and have them drive while pulling you behind the boat! :D bring the cooler with ya and float back there drinking suds :D :cool:

Bring a fishing pole and troll for them.

I hate to tell you but it could be worse than you thought. If she is a tree hugger that pontoon may have twin trolling motors on it.

Take a gun and float on the tube and get waxed, if you see a Manatee shoot it then drag it behind the boat too:D :D

FYI, the taste like ugly chicken as do Key Deer:p

If things get bad you can always use the gun on yourself, or better yet the mother in law:eek: :crazy:

Tell them all that pontoons have a bad rep... they rust from the inside out. Then hole one pontoon while no one is looking then beach it when it starts listing. Scare the sh!t out of them and then rent a real boat..... Made of fiberglass...... No matter what you do though..... pack a cooler with beer.

Tube....alcohol .....100' back....enjoy the ride....HeHe....Fred

It could be worse, she could have rented a sailboat. Just pretend you are on a go-fast that blew an engine. And its not yours. That should make the long slow painful trip a little easier. And alcohol too.

Man, I used to think any boat ride was a good boat ride, but now I'm not so sure!

I was in that very situation once and only once. My wife and mother-in-law fought for the whole time.:crazy:

The only good thing about my story is it was only a one hour rental. Good luck man.

The average opinion here seems to be alcohol. But, do you have a cooler big enough?

it would be a shame if you were out with a fellow OSO member while she was out on the pontoon boat,,,,,,,,,maybe Dave Dall will be in Florida then, and if you could hook up with him and take a cruise on the POST TIME, his Post Yacht,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,he's in Stuart, not the far from Jupiter,,,,,,,,Jupiter Beach, that is.

Don is from Holland, Michigan. It gets DAMN cold in Holland, MI.

Don is complaining about a boat ride in Florida when it is DAMN cold in Holland, MI. When you are from the snow belt, any boat ride in the winter is a good boat ride.

dyno, that ride sucks........in a go fast or in a pontoon. However in a pontoon you'll look like...well you know....a tourist.......

Manatees: If they tasted like chicken the indians would have eaten them all a hundred years ago.....

Send me an e-mail.....I live in Stuart. If we are out Friday or Saturday I can pick you up on the sand bar and we rip the St. Lucie river......

well the ride went off as planned Friday.......longest dang ride of my life!!!if it weren't for my father in law almost swamping the thing on a huge wake from a charter boat it would have been a total loss(except for the couple hours I spent drinking bloody marys and eating conk fritters at shrimpers in Stuart) all in all I think I'll survive.

I was belly up at the Bar in Stuart and a crowd gathered around a slip to look at a Manatee I took my daughter over to see it...should ahve seen the looks I got when I told Autumn that they taste like Chicken!!!The boat guys were laughing so hard I thought they would fall in!!thye look I got from my Tree Hugging mother in law was even better!

Hell, i walked outside this morning at 6 and it was 14 degrees out. i'll take tree huggers and manatees any day over this crap...:)

its 27 here not too bad.....

I haven't stuck my nose out the door yet today but I saw ice on the pond behind the house. That can't be good.
