OT: IS my hard drive about to go?
#12

Tim, thanks for the offer.
I am back up and running in full force now. Spent all day figuring this stuff out. Stuff that would take all you guys 10 minutes to do, took me 10 hrs. Next time, it'll still take me 10 hrs.
Thanks all!

Western Digital, which is what I just happen to replaced it with. Would the constant turn PC off and on cause hardship on this? Like MANY times a day?
Thanks

If you are going to turn it on and off all day, you might as well set the monitor to power off after 30 mins or so, with a blank screen for a screensaver, and the hard drive to turn off after about an hour. Then leave it run all the time. I leave all the computers in the house on 24/7. I like WD drives, and have had good luck with them- only 1 went bad in the last 8 years, and WD replaced it no argument.
