Sledders

OK,who on the board sleds and where / what do you ride? If theres enough interest,we should pull an OSO ride weekend together.

I ride Ontario and Quebec, the best trail systems in the world thank you very much :)

Got an 03 REV and a shiny new 04 REV Renegade 800 just waitin to go.

I`ve got a '01 Arctic Cat ZRT 800 last year of the triple and I love it! :D

Biggus 11-18-2003 07:45 AM

I really like the idea of an OSO sledders run.

Let`s plan something and get the board gods out in the woods!

Something centrally located like upstate NY or so???

Great idea, and something to look forward to this winter

Kurt

Wally 11-18-2003 08:23 AM

I was gonna post this as a reply to sgrady on a different thread but i cant seem to find it so:

I have a brand new, never opened bag of Woody's studs. Its a bag of 96 with aluminum backing plates. They are the Mega-bite's model and are 1.325" tall. I'd like to get $80 for it. If anyone wants them or knows any one please let me know. Thanks

Airpacker 11-18-2003 08:48 AM

Great Wally, I just bought 162 of those last week :(

Biggus, maybe Shane would have a good idea of where to ride in NY.

hugetime1 11-18-2003 09:10 AM

Two Polaris' ,all wung out......Ride mainly Mi., on our lake Cass Lk., a few times a year up north Kalkaska, Cadillac, Lewiston, Paradise, Newberry....... I heard that in Canada you can't ride with a sled that are modified ( exhaust mainly ) and that the gas station/store owner guys are Deputized , and can impound or discontinue your ride, is any of this true? I can always put the stock stuff back on for a ride in Canada ,or rent, because everyone has said how great it is there, fill us in 'Hosers' :D 8

ChrisK 11-18-2003 09:59 AM

So if I make a trip up north in the winter Y'all got something for a fellow OSO'r to ride?

dyno 11-18-2003 10:02 AM

I think I could Borrow the Sled that Mitch's X rode!!

Airpacker 11-18-2003 10:07 AM

Jolley, deputised store owners....LOL,thats a new one. The problem up here has been caused by the guys that run straight stingers and cause one hell of a racket. It has pissed off too many land owners and seeing as how much of the trail system uses private lands,we had a head on collision last year. If your sled is not drag sled loud,it is rarely a problem. Some border inspections have taken place and I heard of a few guys being denied entry because they had obviously loud pipes on the sleds. We have a n exhaust system law but no formal noise law. The only people who can stop you are the police and the OFSC trail wardens.
With 25000 miles of trail, you don't see them often.
Now picture a trail 25 feet wide, flat as a pancake twisting thru the woods and up and down huge hills cruising along at 70 to 100 for 30 minutes without needing to touch the brakes :) Now multiply that trail by 1000 :):)

Tim G. 11-18-2003 10:10 AM

I don't know what you're talking about. It's 80 and sunny here...

26scarab 11-18-2003 10:14 AM

I will be riding a 03 Pro X 700.
My parents have a cabin 8 miles north of Lewiston. I usually ride the, Lewiston,Atlanta,Gaylord,East Jordan, Indian River and Wolverine trail systems. It's been a while but I also like to take a couple of UP trips.
Some friends are trying to get me to go on a WaWa ,Ontario trip but -28f doesn't sound like too much fun to me ! If it gets below zero I'll be in the bar !:D

I pity you then Tim. Where else can ya cruise at over 100 for less than 15 grand?

26 Scarab, Lewiston NY?

Shane 11-18-2003 11:10 AM

Hidy HO my snow bound buddies!:) I have a 2000 SXR700 pretty well dialied in for a Yamaha. I ride throughout NY, VT, Quebec and occassionally NH and ME. I too would love to do an OSO ride. If NY is the place there are lots of great riding areas. I think Old Forge would be best as it has the most diverse trail system, is centrally located, access to the entire state, lakes, woods, railway beds, Tug Hill, Lake Placid, Lake Clear, Cranberry and Star Lakes, Deer Valley etc etc etc. Otherwise I would say Canada.

Shane 11-18-2003 11:27 AM

dreamboater 11-18-2003 12:05 PM

I go snowboarding every year in Lake Placid and we make a point to go Snowmobileing every time. We normally go somewhere in Saranac Lake. This year we are going to SugerBush in Warren VT. Anyone know of a good place that does tours?? The last few years we have rode with some guys that just let us take off. What a blast!

Neverfastenuf 11-18-2003 12:40 PM

04 King Cat 900 and 03 Polaris 800RMK. No trail riding for me, although there are trail networks that entail hundreds and hundreds of miles of interlocking routes. Deep snow and boondocking is where it's at in Colorado. Went Sunday and there was 40" to 50"of snow up high. Going to be a great year if the snow keeps coming.

Milord 11-18-2003 12:40 PM

Chuck you have to come up to Sauble with us this year. I can hardly wait to ride.

Oh, and I don't own one. I just rent a brand new one everytime I go. No need to worry about fixing them, insurance, trail passes, etc. :)

1998 XCR 700 with a ported 2001 XCR 800 motor, Pipes and reeds.

Dave1972 11-18-2003 01:22 PM

We do some sledding in the "northwoods" of Wisconsin around the Mercer area then it's up to the U.P. of MI from there.

Good idea to get something together!!!

I've got a 00 Polaris XCR800....triples sure are fun but the old-school suspension just doesn't compare to the new ones....I'm ready to sell.

You of course need to have a 4 place :D Lets do this for sure, no screwing around, in fact I can get a place in the UP so lets plan this now.

I ride 00 Formula III 800 with crank shop pipes, v force reeds, port work, bored carbs and a rac pak 3 egt. It is dialed in. My significate other rides a 00 Formula Deluxe 700. We ride in Indiana and Michigan. We take most of our trips to the cadillac area. Max velocity and blown check also ride in our group.

Airpacker 11-18-2003 04:29 PM

Dang, the UP from here is a hell of a haul, never mind for anyone east of here.
Maybe we could think of somewhere a little more central?
Suggestions anyone?

Yeah Buddy, Neu Rich We'll see you guys real soon.... AHHH the 'Swamp Two Bar' , 'The Keg' (next to the train tracks). Great food, Great memories....It used to be fun going back to Gaylord past Otsego Lake, but the excessive DNR presence kind of made us steer clear!!!!! ... So now we clean cut across from Lovells ( Turtle Creek Road ) to Starvation Lake, The Hideaway Bar, back to Kalkaska ( just under the radar ) then on to M-131 north to Larry's '7' Ski Inn just south of Boyne Ski Resort..Etc.Etc.Etc............. Cant wait...........Mitch, Shane, Traviss, Neu-R. Dyno, and anyone else coming to Michigan , lets try to hook up........ 'O' Tay.....:D ;)

MitchStellin 11-18-2003 06:58 PM

Hey Neu- Rich, I had a cabin in Fredrick on 610. Now we go to Grand Marais almost every other weekend. We will have to hook up. We had to go as far north as we could because the gaylord /waters area was getting crazy. Too many stops, cross roads and drunk idiots. Now we cruise the UP and can travel at 80 all day. I have over 8000 miles up there in 3 years. Lets keep this thread going so we don't forget.:D

Jolley 11-18-2003 07:04 PM

Mitch count me in .............:D
