Good joke.
But you're right, you'll never hear someone say that in their offices.
Most families, once their on it they never want out. Why should they. Housing, medical, food, transportation to doctors, public transportation, some utility (electric) assistance is all provided at very little or no cost. We foot the bill while they sit around.
There are some people that truly need it, but there's more that are able-bodied but unwilling to work.
errrrrrr......I hate the welfare system!

With some of the people I've seen on welfare, it makes me wonder why I can't get on it...
Don't poof me, but national government should be for protecting the rights we have, and ensuring that we are left alone to provide proper local government for local issues.
It should NOT be the national government's job to SUPPORT those who do not (for whatever reason) support themselves.

Guys, I know how you feel. I have worked 28 years in the Social Services program (Welfare) believe me I have seen it all and heard it all. One of the problems is everyone has a right to apply for any benefits available. Whether they are eligible remains to be seen. As for the statement earlier the people who work and put into the system are penalized when they do fall on hard times such as sickness etc. Violation of a persons rights are all that we hear anymore. You cannot discourage anyone from making an application but we can at least now with Welfare Reform we now require clients to comply with workfirst employment services. You work or your benefits will be cut completely off in 60 months. This does give us a window of opportunityfor job training and a job placement hopefully. Dock owns his own business and he gives me grief regarding how much we pay in taxes. I am with you all the way. Hard work has never hurt me. Everyone have a very nice Thanksgiving. Mrs. Dock Holiday

Whaddaya mean WE elected ??? I wish some of the bleeding heart aholes that think someone else deserves a piece of my check, would have also been around to help me get through 10 years of college. I worked for every damn thing I have and would absolutely, positively watch a lazy SOB starve to death before I would lift a hand to feed him/her.
