i was, am and will be the fastest offshore man here in turkey
Here is the the engine
Disp:520 cu.in Pistons:srp forged 9:1 Crane cams hyd-roller cam 632 lift with 1.7 r.arms Crane gold 1.8 rocker arms Full ported and polished heads from cobra racing 2.300 intakes Accel assisted mercruiser ignition Twin 800 cfms on top Huge headers I am guessing that this combo can make around 650 hp 1- are we agree untill here? Then i add Weiand 8-71 with 10 psi boost Superchiller Here is a formula : desired hp/current hp=PR We already know the pr : 10psi 10/14.7=0.68 which is 1+0.68 = 1.68 if we solve the equation: [desiredhp/current hp=Pr] = [pr X current hp= desired hp] 1.68 X 650 =1092 hp desired hp- app losses = 1092 - %10 loss by belt,adiabatic loss,drive 982 hp note these are all estimations done by the help of some books My personal idea is, i will have an engine around 900-1000hp What do you think? Does it sound ok to you? |
Is that for your Hemi or Skater? :D
|
LOL;
Glh believe it or not but i cant reach all projects.its nice ,i was looking for something to do now i dont have time to finish all :) 1-skater stays as it is.nothing to do with that 2-gtx stays as its is .nothing to do with that,waiting for papers and parts from the ex owner 3-f100 pickup project is going on car is at body shop 4-this engine is for the new boat; 28 turkish cat. planning 2200lbs empty wieght, 3500 lbs full rigged running wieght.single engine ,expecting around 110 mph 's |
Figure 520CID x 1.2HP/CID = 624HP
then 624HP x 10lbs/18 = 970HP then nothing works as well as expected, 1.2 might be generous-maybe closer to 1.1 with 9:1, and 10lbs is a lot for roots blower, lose 8-10%= 900HP. Use 18 as base for carb, roots blowers is my experience. But still 850-900HP is no slouch. Good luck. |
Cobra;
thats also cool! i only need a crankshaft for 540 cu.may be i should do that....... |
now for the drive , your not gonna use a bravo are you?
|
ASD8 would be good for you because merc parts have to be in short supply there.
|
How do you post that picture of the motor?
|
9:1 compression with 10 pounds of boost is going to pound those SRP pistons into a very nice set of paper weights. If you get 'em out quick enough, maybe you can use them as ash trays.
