Most of you who frequent this sight often know I'm at my whits end about my roomate.

At this moment, he's in his bedroom with his little girl friend while his 5 year old is in the living room with me. This seem odd to anyone but me? He pisses and moans that he doesn't have him more, then when he does, he spends his time with her while he is here with me. Guess I'm the babysitter today?? What the F*&# is up with that? I really feel like a guest in my own damn home.

I guess I'm just too nice. I don't want to kick him out over the holidays. BUT, as soon as January rolls in, he's history. Him, his child girlfriend, and his great little kid, whom I feel the most sorry for. I'm sick of the being taken advantage of.

It is not any of our "places" to be a baby-sitter. I'm new to the awareness of your situation, but have been the exact same place myself. Be respectful, but just tell him straight your reasons and why he has to go. The sooner the better for both of you.

Mike, Have you ever said anything to him about how you feel? Maybe he thinks you are OK with the way things are. Obviously his values are different than yours. Let him know what you expect if he wants to continue to stay with you. Once you lay down the rules in YOUR HOUSE, it will be on him to comply. If he chooses not to do things your way then he is not a friend, just a deadbeat user. If you need to tell him to get out be prepared to hear a sob story. Don't give in, just show him the door and, if necessary, set his stuff on the curb. Enough is enough. You are a good person and you do not need to put up with someone taking advantage of you. Mike, roomates are great as long as they know the role they play. Best roomie I ever had was a female. And no it was not a relationship. Co-worker that worked opposite shift from me. We got along great.

So I'm up, it's about 9:30, and the kid is up watching the f-ing power rangers, a show I think is just plain wrong for kids. He's jumping around my living room, which isn't very big. I've had to ask him to stop several times. Now, I wanna have some breakfast so I make myself something. His dad is still in bed and told the kid to ask me to make something for him to eat. Who's son is this anyway? AAGGHH!! I refuse to change my habbits just because there's a 5 year old in the house. I'll eat when I want, what I want, and It's not my responsibility to feed the kid. Right???

I think he and the child girlfriend may have called it quits today. Seems she has been hanging out a lot lately with her ex-boyfriend who is on his way to jail for statatory rape!!! LOSER!! And she's no better for hanging with him. I'm telling you guys, before the two of them met, he was a much different guy. Since they started dating, everything, and I mean EVERYTHING has revolved around her. She's only 19, and not all that in my opinon. Immature, verbally abusive, and heading down the road to alcoholism fast. I guess I've been waiting to see if they break up and then make a judgment call on whether to kick him out or not. If they are done, I know things will change for the better without the little ***** around.

Hate to state the obvious, but. . .

You keep saying this guy's your friend. Reverse the rolls, would you ever treat him like he has treated you? If the answer is "NO!" then he isn't really your friend, and you are enabling him to continue with this unhealthy behavior. I know its hard to kick someone out. Been there done that. But from the tone of your posts, this whole situation is really getting to you.

It is only going to get worse. Eventually everything that he or his son does is going to really piss you off. Take care of it now.:rolleyes:

We're all being harsh, but there seems to be a common theme... The guy is a bum! Mike, has anyone suggested that you continue supporting 'your friend'? Do both of you a favor and kick him out. If he's truly your friend, he'll understand.

If he is a good friend, then talk to him. Draw a line in the sand and if he crosses it he is done. No exceptions! Make it clear what your not happy with and make sure he understands and will leave if not adhered to. Tell him to either move out with the new girl friend or start using the golden rule. You would never be so inconsiderate and neither should he..
If you want to keep him as a friend, set the rules! and keep your word on no exceptions!
