I had one, but it made the whole room have a static smell. It ran for about a week and I cleaned it daily, then it started making a really loud buzzing noise. I got my money back. I guess mine was defective, but I didn't think it was doing all that much anyways.

Wow. Or you can just buy a simple air cleaner.

Consumer reports did an air cleaner test. They said that one did nothing at all. If you want, I can try and find the article. They did have one that outshined them all. It wasnt cheap either.

My mom has two of these with 3 cats in the house as well. They work real good in her home. I have the small one for the bathroom, it works ok.

They do work but you best bet is going to be a HEPA filtration system, either portable or in the HVAC system itself. That is the most efficient and proven way to clean your air. Now, the Ionic Breeze has and ultra violent light that by definition will kill bacteria, germs, virus, etc...but then it needs to be trapped, and that is what the hep does. A combo of the 2 would be fantastic..

Given the choice though, HEPA is the way to go.

True HEPA, no junk... Trust me on this one, I know a ton about this stuff.
