Default 6.0 problems

I'm a diesel tech for a ford dealer & the number of problems i've seen lately is very small. the latest calibration update has fixed almost every problem i've seen. I would highly recomend this engine package. the cal. update does wonders for the engine but as stated earlier, it does idle slightly louder now that the pilot injection is off. the pilot injection was a problem due to the injectors not being able to spray a small amount of fuel, close, then spray the main fuel charge consistantly.

Four Wheeler mag teasted the big three Diesels recently. The Ford was the fastest unloaded, loaded, and pulling a load up a grade. The differences were the greatest when the trucks pulled up a grade loaded.

The link from my first reply on this thread shows basically the same results. Pretty good reading.

I was a little surprised at Dodge's performance....or lack thereof. Expected more from them. I know they have a great package. Couldn't figure out why they would put out a new combo that didn't do better than that.

Rated @ 12,500 lbs. We won't discuss on a public forum what I have towed weightwise behind 99 7.3, but suffice it to say it will pull way more than the rated capacity.. I just ordered a new 6.0 F250 CC LWB , cant wait to get my hands on it!!

I have a 03 250 with the 7.3, was wondering what tires you have on the truck in the picture.

Bob
The 2003 F250 pictures at the top of this message thread has 295-75-16BF Goodrich AT's. I plan on switching out the tires to that size as well once mine comes in from the factory.

And I thought mine had a poor turning radius 4X4 SC LWB. I just emailed my dealer yesterday to find out what they had on the lot and to get pricing on their 2004's. I might have to break down and get a new one myself and I just heard from a good source at Ford in Dearborn that the problems were fixed
