I would have to agree. I met the owner last summer as we were putting up our boats for the winter at the same time. The paint on that is absolutely AWESOME. 900sc's, short stagger, and dry sump #VI's.

Was advertised in powerboat and here in the classifieds recently.

sgrady 12-01-2003 07:04 PM

I would say, it would depend on what you were looking for in an Apache, for the current ones, Race, Pleasure, Config, etc.

Then the list would narrow

THere are a few hidden, that could be available, for the right buyers.

P.S. I considered a second mortgage on the house for that one. The idea didn't last for more that a "craps sake," but still it was entertaining while it lasted ;) :p :D

They are all nice some are just nicer than others. I would have to agree with Mr. Grady that you have to let us know what your parameters are and then go from there.

HMMM ME LIKEM THAT ONE!!!;)

SummerObsession 12-02-2003 01:28 PM

OK, I know I will get blasted for this one, but what is it with Apache's and the pink/multicolor, or pastel colored drives?
Is this an Apache's owners club thing or what?:D

By the way, the crazy horse boat is nice. I am good friends with the guy that does the motor work (I'm pretty sure it's the same boat-not too many apaches around LOTO) and he does great work! I think if memory serves the motors are pretty fresh.

WARPARTY36 12-02-2003 01:34 PM

I think the pastel colors are mostly due to the era they were built in. Think about the Formula's, Fountain's, and the Scarab's from the Miami Vice days.

Summer, I am still trying to find the ladies name.

kevin had about 4 hrs on the fresh motors when he threw a rod through the block on one of them in late july or early august. it made me sick.......and it wasn't even my boat!

APACHES

If you want a side by side IKE's WAR PARTY is the boat to buy, very clean with a good history. If you want a short stagger TATONKA is the boat to buy, clean with a good history. I don't know of a full stagger for sale.

sgrady 12-02-2003 02:13 PM

Ghost Runner is nice among others

BLee 12-02-2003 03:00 PM

Yeah, if you can get past the green, Ghost Runner looks very well kept.

I can do side by side or staggered engines. Race or pleasure setup. Mercruiser 6's are a must, as is exceptionally clean throughout.
Thanks, Ed

I don't think my buddy did the motors that blew. He told me about it though. Not a good scene.
He does mostly machine work, and builds motors too.
Todd Mashmeier is his name from KC.

does todd do a lot of work on race cars??? the story i heard was that kevin decided not to go with his normal egine builder which was Competition Marine from STL to build the new motors, instead he had a guy from KC do it. he only got 4 hrs out of the the motors built by the guy from KC. that came from a pretty reliable source..... maybe if kevin is lurking, he will chime in?

jbk

OBNOXUS21 12-02-2003 04:46 PM

Competition Marine were the original builders of my motors also.....

I have a bew builder now!

P.S. Ghost Runner is also one my all time favorites. I really like that 45' Apache. Not so much the paint scheme, but definitely the cockpit layout!!!

OBNOXUS21: Thanks for the compliment on our 45 and I must say that I agree about the graphics. Thank goodness they are all vinyl. Some days I think that the design is way too busy and other days it is OK. I have considered peeling it all off and going plain white until I can get it painted. I am just worried about what is underneath the vinyl and how badly the exposed white has faded. It would suck to remove all that vinyl only to see all of the lines. We'll experiment with it over the winter. Here is a quick Photo Shop hack job to see what it would look like plain white.

This is the only picture I have that shows the full cockpit. It has eight bolsters in three rows. Two bolsters in the front, four in the middle and two in the rear. The rear two bolsters can be covered up with an insert to make a larger sun pad.
