What do you know about old 240SX? Found a Fast back 89, with the KA24 motor, has a blown head gasket. Good excuse to buy a SR20DET front clip. What have you heard about the cars? Rust problems? Worth the time to change engines? How quick with the SR20?

Thanks,
Tommy

My brother in law had one until a few months ago. We donated it. Ran great up till about 125K miles. Motor was still stong, but clutch, tranny, electical, starter systems were all very tired.

Hey Tommy,

My friend has a 91 and has done some basic power upgrades to the KA24 engine. Body rust is minimal and still seems to be an all around great car. If you can get the front clip I'd go for it. Make for a nice car. SR20 can withstand a large amount of boost and plenty of room to upgrade. Inspection sticker may be a problem, but I'm unsure of the regulations in Ohio. I would put the front clip in it if I were doing it. Just make sure your drivetrain can withstand the increase in horsepower. http://www.srswap.com has the engines, sometimes the clips, and upgrades. Work with a shop if you do it though.
