I'd rent it, but that commute across alligator alley would lill me...
It looks like a good investment... Boating here can't be beat.

We can get you a nice floating lift and just tie it to your dock...

I'm just curious - does water levels vary too much in these canels and does FIMA nail you with flood insurance?

Tides on the Gulf side swing about 2.5 feet from High mean high to low mean low tide. Flooding usually isn't a problem either(typically) due to good drainage.

However, it's the storm surges you have to worry about. Severe low pressure systems or high onshore winds can raise the water levels many feet. Seek high ground when hurricanes approach.
