Having the ONLY lifted X in Town....PRICELESS

I ended up with a solid 3 inches and the ride is better than stock. Before I was 1/2 inch from the bump stops in the front, now i am 3.5" from them so I have my travel back. Well worth the hours spent on this.

Yeh frequent, that would be a ***** if the "X" got a lift and I wasn't around to see it, them, you know. I have 285s right now and that is all I can get on the 7" rim without looking like a balloon and rubbing on the leaf spring. Next Summer I plan on 18X10 with around a 315 or 35 inch tire. I need the rim offset to get away from the frame. My buddy, who gave the springs off his SD PSD CC LB 350 has 18X10 with 35s and it is beautiful. The rim looks great on a tire that size because there is less rubber and it doesn't look like a donut. His truck does 11 second 1/4 miles also. I am sure I will go bigger but right now I am 3" from the garage door (8') and I am not ready to sawzall the header yet, which I have done before. I could take off the rack and go 4" more but I would rather build a new garage than remove the rack:D

US1 Fountain 12-21-2003 04:48 PM

Looks nice. Will it still go in the garage?

boatfreak 12-21-2003 05:01 PM

Looks nice, btw what is that white stuff on the ground?:D

fantastixvoyage 12-21-2003 06:02 PM

Man there must be something in the air up here in MI!!! I'm about halfway done with my 3" body lift on my durango (started this afternoon) and plan to do an additional 3 (suspension) in the spring.

I also like the looks of the larger rims. I'm thinking 17" with 33" mud terrains.

Great looking truck and I'll post pics of mine when I'm finished.

MitchStellin 12-21-2003 06:10 PM

It is almost on year to the day I bought this. I am good for about a year and then it is time to change something. I can't wait that long for rims though. Lifting a truck is mandatory in MI.

Looks great Mitch!

jafo 12-22-2003 06:36 AM

Looks great Mitch!
I have 'U' codes on the front of my PSD Excursion- Ford replaced the old ones under warranty, and I simply gave my service manager the part #'s of the ones I wanted installed. I was at 1/2" clearance and now have over 2". I leveled the truck with Ride Rites in the rear.

Be careful with the setback measurement when you get your new wheels- I see SO MANY crappy looking newer trucks out there with there wheels sticking way out of the wheel wells because the owner didn't have the faintest idea what wheel setback is........

bajabob38 12-22-2003 06:46 AM

Hey Mitch, truck looks great but you can keep all that white stuff up your way.

R Addiction 12-22-2003 07:53 AM

AHHH...What the hell Bob, it's colder than a witches you know what around here might as well make it look nice(r) :D

Strip Poker 388 12-22-2003 08:31 AM

Mitch looking good. just need some bigger tires next:D

MitchStellin 12-22-2003 09:22 AM

My garage is 8', without the rack it would fit no problem in a 7' door. I am really happy with the ride so far, I still have 4" with my rack on an 8ft door. Troutly, I wanted the same as you but had to go this route to please. Now that she is gone I would like the pick up again but who knows, I don't plan on being single long (no, not married) so I will need the inside space, my dog sure likes it.:D

26scarab 12-22-2003 09:24 AM

Looks good Mitch !
I've got 6.5" wide rims ( I think) and 315-75/16 BF Goodrich Allterrains fit perfectly. Still nice and squared looking.
I will talk to you Friday on the way up north.

Looks great Mitch, very cool!

BTW...I got the second check, you did not have to send it, but thank you. I hope you enjoy the shirts:)

checkmate zt 12-23-2003 11:04 AM

Thats exactly what I did to my excursion. I got a little vibration between 65 and 75. I have had the stock shocks on for about 6 months but they need replaced. looks great.

MitchStellin 12-23-2003 12:33 PM

I have another friend who is getting the RS9000 with the new 9 way switch. His 9000s with the 5 way are only 5000 miles old and he is going to give them to me because his new ones are free. Wardly, that is a nice set up, I plan on going with bigger tires and rims which will help but it will be some time before I go bigger. I drive this daily and still need to park it in the garage (or Car Hole as Moe calls it). The best part is looking down on Chevys. Thanks Checkmate, lets see a pic:D There is no doubt this truck needed this, they all do and would ride much better if they were. Ford really blew it with the suspension, no sway bar in the rear....what a joke, you can buy a new one from Ford for $68.00 and a 30mm from Helwig for $130. Shocks and sway bar next.

Wardey 12-23-2003 12:44 PM

Mitch, Just kidding. I think it looks great. Mine is a daily driver also with about 100 miles daily. Dave

R Addiction 12-23-2003 07:22 PM

Mitch, I used to like you until the "Lookin' down on the Chevy's" Comment:mad: ;)

Mitch,
I did about the same to mine. I put some 18" wheels on it. I also had a little vibration at highway speeds but not bad at all. I sold the vehicle b/c I work at my family's Ford dealership but plan on building another one. Let me know when you are ready to trade.

I did a 04 in black also!

MitchStellin 12-23-2003 08:48 PM

Well now I can see what my truck would look like with 18s. Looks good.

checkmate zt 12-24-2003 12:40 PM

The 18s look sharp. I pulled the running boards off. It makes it look a little higher, Ive never cared much for running boards
