What a horrible start to the day. It's crazy the way some people have HUGE issues around the holidays and crazy chit like this happens.
On the bright side, I Thank ALL Firefighters, Policeman, and Armed forces who protect us in different ways day in, day out.
The sacrifice of a Holiday with family is true commitment. Job well done Shane.
Best wishes to all,
Mark

There are all kinds of volunteer jobs that need to be done around the fire house. You do not have to be interior or medical to be a member and make a huge contribution. If you have ANY inclination at all, check it out. It can be very rewarding helping others.

This thread was not to seek out attention or praise for firefighters but to give thanks for all we have and what we do. It was also to show us that there are many people out there that are far less fortunate and are victims of terrible people. It happening on a holiday is even more tragic.

Shane it sure makes you appreciate the small stuff doesn't it? This is the first Christmas I haven't been on duty in a few years and it sure is nice.
Try and make the rest of the day a good one. Happy holidays.

Kudos to Shane and the rest of the Fire Dept. You have a job that certainly takes a special kind of person! I truly hope the rest of your day is NOT work related.

Shane all I can say is WOW. I hope that you got to relax with the family a little bit since you have been home. Thanks for your voluntary service.
