Couple of steps, there is a study at home series of DVD's, then a take at home test. Must work for a dealer who will then enroll him in school. If I remember right there is a 1 week at school basic course, then a year later the certification course.

stecz20,

Check out MMI, Marine Mechanics Institute. I believe it`s in Orlando. I have a friend who graduated from there and he is extremely happy with the education. This kid is now a first class marine mech and I was really impressed at his electrical know how.

With a certification from MMI, most marinas would be happy to hire him and the Merc schools would follow.

We may be looking for someone to come on board and be trained This spring. But I don't know how far from home he wants to be. We are on the Niagara River in WNY. My e-mail is [email protected] and our web site is www.eastpier.com
We are Merc. certified as well as Merc. Racing.
