Silent choice is GAY.
There are some mechanical reasons why you should not have it.
Stock 350 in a 22' Baja? OK. Fine.
540's in a 35' off shore? "Don't be gay sparky. Don't be gay."

Steve my old boat was loud all the time and there are times I wished it wasn't my 270 has silent choice that goes through a baffle for a little quieter ride when desired. I say leave it on at least you have the choice then.
