The SB is a 7' beam on their 24 and 30. The SB 24 and the Pantera 24 are the same size.

I think the 24 Superboat has been around since 1974. Pantera and Superboat both have 7' beams. The Superboat is about 400lbs. lighter than the Pantera. The 1997 and newer Superboats do have a v-shaped pad as SS930 said. It has a single step too.

Here is a picture of my bottom.

hey

The black is not that bad once you learn how to move around on it , and its good for breakfast, you can cook eggs on it. I was just down at the factory with it and jo and pepe loved what i did with it 540, 420 mega blower, idles at 650, with hardly any blower surge, made 800ft lbs of torque at 4000rpm. Its got a nice stereo in it as well. I added a sun pad between the bolsters and the engine hatch. Bischoff did the motor,Merlin540 & his son and myself did the rigging.I also had a 24 with a 700sc in it, it ran 90mph. That was a fun boat, it would run 4to 5s in lake erie all day, Pantera also has a small pad. Will post som pics soon,Jo if you read this please post a couple of pics of the 28 when we ran in biscayne bay

Whats up Fred. The only other bad thing about having a black interior is the hotter it gets women take off more and more clothes, NOT

Which is better, the older boats without pad, or newer "97" with step and pad?

If you want my opinion you must first admit Ben belongs in the big house! :D

The pad will in theory add to the top speed of the boat (same is true of the step), but at the cost of ride quality in the bigger water. So to answer your question, it all depends what you're looking for in the boat... both are awesome boats! Like I said before newer 24 Superboats are slightly faster than an equally equipped 24 Pantera. I'd give the nod to the Pantera in the rough. I'm talking very small differences here...

Can't go wrong with either.;)
