Default best power package besides Merc?

I want opinions on the best power package that is'nt 50 hour power...I am assuming under 800hp I can get about 200 hours. Give me some solid info and prices if you can. Drives will be SSM VI's on a 39' boat.

A few power plants that I have had considered so far:

Teague, Chief, Sterling, and MRD.

I need hard core info about bugs or problems that any of these builders are typically known for...Thanks

I wonder how Jassby's boat is with the totalmp power?

I'm interested in the 750hp EFI na motor, looks like the best motor for the dollar.

Sterling built some big non-supercharged EFI motors for a boat called "On The Prowl", with the intent of getting several hundred hours between rebuilds. Call Sterling and talk to Mike D'Annaballe.

The first one is Petes and will be at the Miami boat show w/525's+bravos. The second one I believe will have 3 525's.

I wanted to originally go with bravos and maybe some Teague power. Now I figure in the long run it will be better to go with VI's if I can find a good package that fits my needs and wallet

If I was going to go with a custom motor builder, I would try to find a reputable one close to where the boat will be. DMAN has Pfaff motors in his boat and seems to be pretty happy with them.
