Warparty36 and I towed a buddies 47 Fountain to Destin FL. last Summer. When they put the boat on the slings it weighed 21,000 lbs, no ****. He has a transport trailer for it. It probably weighs 5-6,000 lbs. So around 26,000 lbs total.
We pulled it all with no problem with a 2003 3500 Chevy Dually, Duramax. Unbelievable.

The bigger trucks are real nice . The most common mistake is not getting enough GEAR in the rear to run ! Most are geared low and the motors turn low rpms .Our kodiak had a 250 cat with taller tires and it would top out at 76mph wide open . That's not enough . You need it geared to run about 15-20 mph faster then you drive so the motor is not running wide open all the time . The motor has plenty of torque to keep it going, trust me ! If not call me and we'll "chip it " ! Our Internation had a cummins that I turned up to 300hp . It was geared right . On cruise pulling over 30,000 lbs behind it ,it ran 85-90 mph through the mountains in Va, Ten, and Kentucky . I can't remember what gears they had though ..........
Our kodiak got 10 mpg all the time . Taller gears would probably done better . You can get the air ride suspension for the back . YOU SHOULD ! I've got some great air ride seats too ! message and all !
