Troutly is right- watch your build dates, engine codes etc., and you should be fine with the new 6.0 (you can get all the particulars on thedieselstop.com)
My 7.3 runs so well in my Excursion, I have no need to upgrade for quite a while.
I know that, duh. I guess I needed to throw a " " in there for you Jafo... (it was just my way of adding what I would buy). A post 9/29 F-Series would be my second choice, a very close second. I just like the GMC styling, (hate the Chevy look) and not everyone has one like the F-Series...

Dodge or Ford

I like them both.

If you are going to ride around in it get the Dodge.

If you are going to put it to work get the Ford!

When it comes to the engine itself Dodge's Cummins is pretty hard to beat. The Powerstroke is going to deliver also. The Cummins isn't as loud as it used to be but still louder than the Ford. Chevy's Duramax diesel is the quietest. Both the Cummins and the Powerstroke can be easily modified to make silly amounts of Torque.

When it comes to the truck itself I think Boss has a point. There is a reason why Ford sells so many trucks. Ford builds tough trucks.

Both awesome vehicles. Like Troutly advised though, if you go with the Ford make sure the production date is later than 10-1-03. The Ford has more room inside than the Dodge, if that is an issue. Other than that I don't see how you can go wrong either way. Like was said before, drive both and decide which one suits you best. Sam
