Oh boy here we go.
Norwegian born Nils Johnsen started building boats when he was a teenager. In the late 80's he designed and built in Sweden what was then the Hi-Tech 5000. In 1990 he and childhood friend, Trond Schou, decided SW FLA was the place to be so they loaded up the mold and moved to..well..a.. Cape Coral. This was the beginning of H.P.B.C., D.B.A., Nor-Tech. I hate to admit it but Nils designs everything in his head. No computer, CAD, just a lot of napkins, cardboard scraps or whatever is handy.
So there you have it.
Thanks,
Terry Sobo

Anyone know what the force behind the 380 was?

A Cafe Racer

:D :D :D

salesmanship 01-13-2004 10:31 AM

The front half of the 380 is similar to the Cafe/ Force 10.
From the Cg back it's totally different. Two steps, pad and notched transom.
We are working on a new 39 and will be ready for the fall of 04.

THE WHOLE design of that boat is awsome ; the hood scopes; the seats; the dash; the wind shield; personly they 've moved boat design forward....... a long, long way; the whole set up was first class !!

Great boat and great people to work with.

Had the pleasure to go out on the 43' v-hull several weeks ago.

The boat stays on plane at 15 mph and ran nearly 100 mph. The only bad thing about the ride was that we could not find enough rough water to begin to challenge the boat. This machine just ate up anything we could throw at it.

I think Nor-Tech could acquire Lexus's slogan... 'The Reletless Pursuit of Perfection', as they really work towards making one of the best products to hit the water.

Not trying to kiss any azz here, but was really wowed with this product/team.

Best of luck to the Nor-Tech team in getting new hulls out the door (39 V, 43 cat, and...).

In the building business we refer to this as CADNAP 2004

blingbling 01-13-2004 09:44 PM

:D Just wanted you all to know that Terry Sobo should get an award for best boat salesman of the century.I have owend 7 boats in the past, last being a skater, and have never been treated better. Terry's professionalism, courtesy, and knowledge of his outstanding product is second to none. From their elite facility, flawless 140mph test drive, and putting up with my anal ways, they have shown their true colors.By the way, leave Terry a phone message, and worst case scenario, 22 minutes, imagine that. Terry, have I kissed enough ass to get 6 passes to the miami boat show? Do you need California ladies to work the booth? Your Santa Barbara customer.

Agreed Great Boat and Terry is one of the best in a dishonest business. Hey the new northern dealer is OK as well. :D

salesmanship 01-15-2004 08:38 AM

Thanks Scott but does that make me one of the best dishonest people? :p

The Wizard 01-15-2004 09:15 AM

I have to agree, when I was looking to buy a boat. I met Terry and he was not pushy like most of the sales people out there. He knows the product and tells it the way it is.

Nor-Tech is the real deal....

There Terry you happy now? You owe me 25 bucks...:D :D

 zzie

boatme 01-15-2004 09:35 AM

Hmmm since Scott only eluded to me do i owe him $10

thanks by the way scott :)
