As I first started reading this thread, I was going to post myself, for I am nipping at the heels of those guys, give me a few more months.... Then I saw I am listed, but my speed is wrong. But since it is 2mph GPS faster than I can do (that is with no gas, no shoes, no diner, just having urinated, no anchors, 1 lifejacket) I will leave it be at 47mph.
Oh yeah, good to see no Apaches on this thread. |
Xtreme Xhibit, the 50 Nor-Tech cat is not the former Warbird. Warbird has been converted to turbines and will be tested after the Miami Show. Xtreme Xhibit has seen 175 MPH and has more in store for 2000 and four.
The Montano/Hartman turbine 50 cat runs in the 150's TS |

:D :D :D :D Relax its almost Friday;)

Well, I went 200+...but it was on my turbo Hayabusa. :D
|
OK, but that's still not him. Warbird lives in Ft. Lauderdale, sold his 4th Nor-Tech, retired from offshore and last owned a 540 Sea Ray.
Xtreme Xhibit is in Rochester. Different boats, different owners. "Just the facts ma'am" ;) |

I think the Sourcerer (sp) skater is up there too.
|
There was a Full canopy 40 Skater on Texoma powered by turbines named Arneson. I believe it was an ex-arneson race boat. It had 18x mph on the side. It burned 2 years ago.

Al Copelands turbine Skater is up there pretty good.

Rudden Motorsports from Long Island is a contender. It is a 32' Skater powered by Mercury 900SC's mated to Mercury #6 out drives. This picture is of when it was an outboard powered 32'. It has since been reconfigured at Skater with the 900's/6's.
|
I believe the Bacardi Silver boat has been over the 200 mph mark also. The smaller, black one, not the white one.
|
Cool Thread. I can't wait to read more of it at home! Any Cigarettes in there?
You should put the boat name, maker and power. Leaving work now to go get Photoshop! |
Dont forget BigCat on this board with his brand new MTI 39 with a pair of 1300hp Eickerts........

sweet keep em comming guys awsome tread

If you are judging by top speed only, my vote is for Callen.
But I think that the reliability should be a factor in all of these piston powered boats. Sure they all run fast for the first 10 hours. Or maybe even the 75 hours (doubt full) as the warranty suggest. But these turbines just run and run and run! Your only worries are drives. Turbine are much more easy on drives to begin with, smooth constant power flow. Extreme Exhibit came up to the thousand islands poker run last summer, wanted to get beside My Way. He did, wasn't as fast and then broke! My Way didn't finish a poker run up hear till it was turbined! So if speed is the only judging factor in this thread, fine. But I think the boats mentioned above, and to be mentioned, should be finishing the races the start. And that be taken into consideration. Can the speed be done in bursts, or all day long? My name is Jeff, these are my opinions Sun 288 (Canada Jeff);) |
