Maybe I'm the only one (and that wouldn't bother me), but I welcome the change of seasons. I enjoy the winter for the most part, even the snow, and we adjust our activities with each season. (try ice sailing sometime if you want a rush = to a high speed run in a boat)

I have always had a tendency of tiring of things when I do them repetitiously, and I have a funny feeling I would tire of boating if it was at my disposal every day, 12 months a year. The change of seasons and weather allow for a more varied lifestyle, which seems to fit me fine. To each his/her own, I guess.

I think there is a certain 'anticipation' that northern boaters get with the coming of each new season that renews the excitement and fun of it year after year. I personally would hate to lose that feeling.
There are definitely days that I need the warmth of the south- and jets make short order of getting that fix.:)

that thought did not even cross my mind, if I were into that stuff, I am sure if I were, I would be in a little more than this.

as far as change of season, we get it every day this time of year, 50 degrees in the morning, mid 70's by noon.

Reading this thread you'd think that the only place to boat in the South is Florida. Here in Texas we will be boating in the 70-80 degree February weather before you know it. I can make more $$$ (and do) here than up north and we have no state income taxes in TX.

I can't stand the cold weather. I went to Vermont over Thanksgiving and almost froze to death. Everyone there was under the peculiar impression that it was a nice day and hadn't gotten cold yet. Yeah right. As much as I may like the idea of a hot rod snowmobile I think I'll stay here where the high today is 65 and the low is 60. (I wish I wouldn't have winterized my boat yet).

AS soon as my truck is out of the shop, we are heading south for round 2 of the Florida home search. We should be there middle to late next week. Take us for a boat ride and prove your point :D
