STAY AWAY

From what I understand the 36 Warrior shown above was one of the very few 36 Warriors with steps that were made. There were others built with steps in different places that did not work as well.

As per BS, and the current owner, the boat does about 83mph. This I believe is the same speed a Top Gun T/S does with the same HP500 power.

Also keep in mind this boat was a generator, and an A/C unit.

A 36 Warrior set up the same way without steps will do about 72-73 MPH.

A 38 Gun non step with 500's does in the 71-73 MPH range.

I would contact Bobby before buying any Apache he hs built or worked on. He always has been more than happy to help.

APACHE THREAD DISCLAIMER:

THE ABOVE POST IS MY OPINION. IF YOU DON'T AGREE YOU SHOULD DRINK DIRTY BILGE WATER.

The 36 twin step you have posted was fine and picked up 11 MPH when tested at Lake X. The stepped 36 cigracer38 is talking about was never sold and the steps did cause a suction. The stepped 36 was great but a dispute caused the rights to the step 36 to go away and not return.

When I ran one I was impressed. I also seen it take a 2nd in the Key west Worlds in 2000. So I do not think it was an issue.

Read above for the "Scalp" disclaimer.

Couple of further points on the Twin Step listed here. It is a reverse Chin design, very similar to the cig set up, but a little more forgiving. The boat is lighter and faster than the original design.

I think there were only 3 made, you would have to ask Bobby on that, but I can only remember 3. The changes were inserted into the mold, but the insert went away during that time period.

I just wanted to make sure we did not confuse the two designs and degrade a fellow OSO'er who is trying to sell his boat. This boat is rare and performs very well.

If you have more questions call Bobby himself or myself I can try to answer some of the issues, although the Chief would know everything needed since he raced one.

I wish they still made the design that worked. The 36 was a killer boat.

It's not this one is it? If not...what ever happened with that one??

hi-perf-2000...
THANK YOU. I KNEW that boat was familiar. I do not think it could be a different boat; too close in details. There are more pics of that 'parked' boat here on OSO.

Found it.

If it were not for the steps, he probably could have backed out... given how awesome Apaches are.

Thought that was the boat. What kind of damage was done when it decided to investigate the grassy knole??
