If I remember correct, it is with the 496 Mag HO. I'll look tomorrow. Dave

i have it on my boat with 496 mag ho's but at the time it wasn't a package... my builder told me recently that this year it is a package for the HO's and larger.
last year smallest package was with 500 hp's i believe

I know that it is available on the Mercury Racing Packages from the HP377 Scorpion all the way to the HP575SCI packages and I beleive they do offer for the Mercury 496HO Mag package. I'll look this morning. Dave

Can one of these be added to an existing 496 HO B1 setup, what do they cost ???. I assume they are worth approx. 2-3 mph ?? Thanks

They are around $6,500.00 for the box, then you need to buy a longer torsion shaft for the drive, and hydraulic helm kit for the steering. All in all you could estimate about eight grand for supplies once you re prop and any other odds and ends.

Based on an order form for a particular boat I am considering it shows that the ITS is an available option for the 496.

The question I have (sorry 26 Sonic) is the cost worth the gains or should one consider aftermarket extention boxes in the future?

I couldnt justify 8 grand for minimal gains, sounds like an extension box would be the hotter ticket..
