I was talking to Scott Smith about doing the survey and this is what he wrote. I thought it was kinda interesting. He was the Quality control guy at CRT for like 20 yrs so he knows a thing or two about Cigs. He seems like a hell of a guy and was really helpful. I think he said they only built 7 boats in 97.
Thank You for the pick's. It's funny, in 1997 Cigarette was in a financial bind. Myself and Neil Hernandez VP of Cigarette now, started a company called CRT Service, we hired all the best riggers, upholstery people, electricians, ect, that Cigarette had let go. We built that boat. He and I were on it daily, we only built 7 in 1997. That means, you will be buying a truly custom, well looked after, QC'd boat, Cigarette ever built. Not since 1997 has there been or will there be a better built boat, not just structurally, but mechanically, electrically, ect. Let me know what I can do to help. Remember a full survey is $10.00 a foot. A compression check is $150.00, a Survey with a complete sea trail, shake down Sea Trail is $100.00 extra. If you would like me to ride with your friend, I will do it for free, ok maybe lunch. Let me know.
Thank You,
Scott V. Smith

I really like the 600SC's they're stock Merc and with XR Drives I hope it will be a pretty solid package. I don't push a boat much we are 4-5 boats always together on the Lake and rarely cruise faster than 50-55 mph and the engines are not in boost till about 62-64 mph so most of our boating is pretty docile on the mills. I liked those engines even before we got this boat.
The other thing I like is that its also just a bit faster than most straight bottom 35-42 offshore boats with 500hp's . We hit a little over 80 in the keys so I expect 78 or so on our fresh water lake with the boat loaded with the crap we take to spend week ends on it.
