2004 Winter Chill-Out Success & THANKS!!
#1

THANKS EVERYONE, first off. It was your party; this one will be hard to top.
Final count as best I can tell is 201 people!
Plenty of fun was had by all, beginning early with the RPBA hosted Happy Hour at the Tobacco Factory. I even heard rumors a few nearly retired after the Happy Hour. Unfortunately, Reggie was not able to attend due to illness. Once things got underway at the Richbrau; there were so many doorprizes/giveways that I was running out of time to give them away. I ended up clearing the table and taking them up to the balcony for dispersal. The T-shirts and hats went well; however, chucking off the Freeze Frame Videos was near lethal. Thank you R’Addiction for your assistance. Of course we know what needs to be seen to improve aim when throwing items off the balcony, as such we did see some twins; again this year.
There were a lot of beads floating through the crowd was well. We appreciate Ted/Insptech and Ron P for taking time to speak about the upcoming Chesapeake Bay Race and Endurance Race, respectively. We also VERY much look forward to coverage of the event in Extreme Boats Magazine.
Many people ended up all over at several establishments throughout the area after the Chill-Out including the Richbrau, the Tobacco Factory, the Omni Hotel Bar, and others. The Richbrau is eager to have us back again next year, even though we are pushing the limits of their space. I think everyone will agree the Omni worked out well this year, being within crawling distance from the Richbrau and Tobacco Factory. There were over 40 rooms booked at the Omni.
Two people I need to thank very much: Patti and Audra, for making lots of telephone calls to our donators listed below; and coordination and transportation efforts; setup etc. (43 Thunder and Charmed1 aka Atomic Sonic)
OSO members credited with being the farthest traveled:
The Charts from St. Louis!!!!!
AudioFN and Pamela from Massachusetts
TopDJ and Monica from New York.
Honorable mention:
The entire South Carolina / Lake Murray gang; Jan & Christa (Bear), Wigginout & Mrs. Wigginout, and Dr. Ed & Vicki (Spine Tingler); and Formula31 from Ohio.
Down to partying…
Hands down Winners of the hardest partiers (again):
The Hampton Roads Powerboat Association
Nipping closely at their heals:
The Richmond PowerBoat Association
And the tightest competition of the evening…
The Lake Murray Gang narrowly edged out the CBPBA for third place.
I think those who were there know the rulings to be fair.

Next year I believe Spicy and the Outboard Girls of the CBPBA will step it up a notch and things will get even more interesting.
I have to GRACIOUSLY thank those who donated gifts; services; apparel; boating supplies and the like:

Once again, I do believe, every party in attendance went home with something.
I think we can only wonder what 2005 will be like, but we have all of 2004 left to plan!! For you folks that could not make it this year, MARK YOUR CALENDARS for January 29th, 2005, as I think we will steer clear of SuperBowl weekend next year.
Thanks again everyone for making this a great event!

If I forgot anyone, please let me know.
I also have to credit my sister Michelle and brother-in-law Efrain for sneaking 3 birthday cakes into MY OWN truck on the way down, and coercing 200 people into singing Happy Birthday. Thank you everyone, as the celebration of my 30th inadvertently started a few days early.

The Lake Murray Gang narrowly edged out the CBPBA for third place.

I think we need a rematch at the Cambridge Race event in September.
Sign me up for next year Brian, and thanks again.

Wow, it was just like Marti Gras! People screaming to Brian up on the balcony "Throw me an F'ing tshirt!"
I watched the Lake Murray gals intently hoping the airborne gifts would warrant some flashing boobs! Ah, to my happiness I saw accentuated cleavage and dang if a tshirt didn't land on the supple bosoms.
Man, what a great party. Can't wait for next year. The OMNI was top notch for the price and all within knee walking distance to the festivities. CBPBA will definitely throw down the gauntlet next time.
Way to go Brian.

Thanks again Brian for a great show. The HRPA was happy to represent the great state of Virginia in such an honorable fashion....
And Keith you're gonna have to try real hard because the HRPA was still hootin' it up to 4:30am in room 1404 after the other lights went out....
We hope folks can come down and join both the HRPA and the RPBA in a couple of excellent poker runs where the tradition continues. And BTW, that's July 31st for the RPBA's run down the James River, and August 6 & 7 for our (HRPA) run around the Atlantic; southern ChesBay; and Elizabeth River.
See everyone in Miami......
