Anyone bought a new GTO yet?

Has anyone taken delivery on a new GTO yet? How do you like it and how does it run? Roger

I did not buy/drive one.

Our GMC/Pontiac dealer has a Black/Red 6 speed. Owner of dealership didn't even drive it yet due to snow/salt here. They look smaller than in pictures. Very nice. He said it has true dual exhaust.

My impression: A much better back seat than my Formula. Interior quality is much better than the Formula. Sticker shows list, then $5,000 "market adjustment". Dealer will deal over list, but problem is other dealers are willing to pay over list to get one for their customers.

Also, because the automatic gets hit with a $1,000 gas guzzler tax, the 6 speed actually costs less as a $600 option but not a gas guzzler. Hope this info helps. Good luck. I'd buy one however in the last three years I've spent way too much on toys.

Sorry, I'm just too old fashioned. I would not buy a new GTO. However I would love to have a 68-70 Ram Air IV or even better yet Ram Air V GTO.

To me, the new GTO just does`nt cut it. It looks like an oversized sunfire.

I was just wondering. I bid and won one on e-bay for a little under list. Will advise after I get it. Roger

We have one at our Dealership. Nice car motor fits in well. The weather has been to crappy for us to take it out. A few of the salesmen have and they say it runs good. But what the hell do salesmen know!!! ;)

My streets are dry let er rip!:D

I'll take a Ram Air V 69 any day over this new ugly car

Looks like a Neon, shouldn't have the GTO legacy/name attached to it.

CAP071 02-08-2004 08:40 PM

There was a GTO burn out video clip on here somewhere?

R Addiction 02-08-2004 08:55 PM

CAP, Breath in through your nose as you think of these words......burning rubber and racing gas!!! Smelled it didn't ya!!

Cancelled my order that would have been available in two weeks. It just doesn't cut it in the looks department. My Subaru station wagon is faster 0-60 and handles better.

Lots of other stuff in the pipeline from GM and others.

I guess I'll just have to burn some more rubber in my supercharged 96 Impala.

I like my '69 convertible just fine. ;)
I wouldn't mind having one of the new ones, but not in the first year, and they certainly are going to have to listen to the old goat owners- we're a very critical bunch, and that new car needs hood scoops, just for starters..............
