The Tampa Tribune is gonna run a piece on "SAFE BOATING" Wednesday Feb. 11 and tell us how the Chris Parker tragidy could have been avoided. I hope their using knowledgable experts and not some tree huggin blowboater who`s gonna insist on speedlimits, available HP,helmuts, schools, regulation. I can deal with the vest issue while running fast. Will see if it's perf. boat friendly or if they are testing the waters.

If the Tampa Tribune is ANYTHING like the Sarasota Herald Tribune, it will NOT be factual, it will be completely biased against performance boating, it will demand action against all of us "drug boat users", it will try to tell us how to think, and be totally fully of sh!t.
I have learned one thing about the media, over replacement bridge height issues, you could give them "Big Ben" and they would not give you the correct time.
Frank, do you have their website address so I can read it tomorrow? Thanks Russ

I'm all for a letter-writing campaign, BUT:
1) Only if the article really is incorrect. (Be honest with yourself here.)
2) Only if the letters are written in a mature and well though-out fashion. Some of the stuff "we" were sending out the other week was bordering on ranting.
Here's hoping for the best....

Ok,it was good..non-fingerpointing,non-biased it told those who might be thinkin of boating (new boaters )whats avail. to you.It did not mention Chris's accident other then the vest should be worn because if things go bad you wont have time to react to putting the vest on. Thats it. This article wont draw any negative responce from the public..
