Yeah " R " you should go... and while you are there... you can give this to my Buddy... and tell him " It doesn't matter how an oil filter is plumbed.... the oil doesn't know what direction it is going through the filter"... :cool:

I'm positive my buddy will also tell you that this is normal wear for 5 hrs use. :eureka:

Also... that debris left in the oiling system isn't a problem.... nothing unusual at all .... :eureka:

Same has happened to me before. Did you catch it before it trashed everything else with in a 3 foot radius?

Of course this is normal "R"... Normal for the guy that built the engine... perfectly normal... :mad:

and the discoloration from heat wasn't because of lack of oil....... nosireeeeee! :p

nope.... it trashed the block... but the "expert" said it would be ok... and put new rods, new crank... new pistons... and a new cam into a block that had huge chunks missing in the lower web areas of the cylinders..

Are you gonna tell us who the expert is?

Here is a picture of the cam bearing... but it didn't suffer from lack of oil either... that is why the low friction material became liquid and flowed out the edge... too funny... :p (pardon my sarcasm)...:p

Hey Reed, looks like you need to pick your "buddies" a little better:D If he can't tell that is an oil problem then he has no business building motors. Don't you just love it when someone who performed a job, and then a subsequent failer, tells you it is your fault. No one owns up to anything now-a-days. It is a sad state of affairs.:(

You don't need to tell me that Mitch... I spent a lot of time trying to convince this "expert" that there was a problem in his thinking... he informed me that I didn't know sh*t... and that he was the expert... my reply.... then why is it your engines only lasted 5 hrs... and after I fixed the engines myself... they have several hundred hours on them and still no problems... still no failures... still have bearings and run great???? Now tell me... who is the expert.... You are the expert.... but only at making grenades... and ticking time bombs...

I use the term "Buddy" loosely... he isn't, nor was he ever my buddy... he claims the be the undisputed authority on offshore engines.. has a big shop near me that specializes in only offshore boats... can you guess who it is????

Anyway, Miami was great and yea R Addiction you should've been there!!....:p

The good side is think how much better next year will be as more and more are talked into going down for a couple of days/nights each year. I went down with a growing group from my neck of the woods that reached 21 this year including my first trip. Next year will be a little better in some way. Be there....;)
