OT: A special word of thanks........

My father passed away very suddenly last Friday (2/13), while I was in Miami at the show (he lived in West Palm Beach). It was, and still is a total shock..:(:(.

I just wanted to thank some of my OSO brethren.......

Craig Barrie, Scott Smith, John Schultz, Craig223, Mrs. Craig223 (Nancy), Sydwayz, C-Spray, etc......Thank you for your kind words at a time when I was REALLY messed up.....

GLH.....your assistance means more than you can ever imagine. Your selfless act (he drove me from Miami to West Palm Beach in the middle of the night) allowed me to be with my mother when the "call" came. Also your cellphone message was very moving.......I will never forget......

Biggus...I did get your message, sorry I didn't return it.....now you know why.....

I'm a very private person when it comes to matters such as this, but I just wanted to point out that this site goes far beyond our love of boats........we are a family, and as I tear up writing this, I will finish by saying that you guys (and girls) are the BEST..........

P.S. - Nort.....it was good to finally meet you.......:)

I'm, sorry to hear about your dad. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family.

It's good that some friends were able to help out like they did. There are a lot of class people here on OSO. Several of the ones you mentioned also came to my aid a little over a year ago. I still can't thank them enough.

RT,

I lost my father a few years back, and there is still a "hole" in my life. I wish that I could tell you that it will get better, but you will miss your father for the rest of your life. :(

Just know that his work is now done, and the best that you can do is live your life so that he would be proud. You WILL see him again someday.

Hang in there! :)

Risk, I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your father, I'm still trying to get back to normal after my dad recently passed. Take some time to grieve and remember the great moments, they will eventually help get you back on the road to normalcy. I can understand that you are a private person as I am also. I have found that if you open up to friends and family it helps greatly. I hope you won't be afraid to do this because we are all here for you. My best thoughts go out to you and your family.

Take Care
Roby

Very sorry to hear of your loss.

I wish you and your family best wishes in this difficult time. I will post this poem I wrote when a member of the OSO family passed away awhile back. I hope you find some comfort in it.

A Poem of Remembrance

Remember me for I am gone, but not from your thoughts
Or prayers,

Spill now the tears for a while, they cleanse the soul
And bring hope for the new day,

My thoughts and deeds are best remembered for me, as are
My thoughts of you,

Words alone do not mark our lives in the present but in the days to come as well,

Remember me as your day’s journey begins and ends, but fear not for I am watching,

I await our reunion, and the days thereafter. Until then live as I have lived and remember me.
