Default Binoculars???????????

I'm looking to buy a set of BINOCULARS. Any thing special i should look for? what power is most common? where to go to get best price? what should i pay?

If you are going to use them for watching offshore or from offshore I'd suggest nothing less than 10x. But 20x would be better. Also The larger the diameter of the lens the more light will come in.

They have them from $99 up to ????? The stronger the power the more jitter unless you get one with image stabilization.

Ritz camera , and Sports Authority have large selections, as well as Bushnell, and Nikon.

I use a pair of Bushnell perma focus that are 12x50.

Just depends what you want. You can pay big bucks for image stabilization or go cheap. Go somewhere where they have a lot of pairs. The optics gather differing amounts of light and clarity.

I bought my camera from B&H Photo..They then sent me a catalog that was thicker then the white and yellow pages of the phone book added together..Very nice customer service/interface also..

I bought a pair of NcSTAR 20 X 70s on Ebay a couple of months ago for around $50.00, and their actually a pretty nice unit. Coated lenses and good viewing. Might still be some there.

Bang for the buck, it's REAL hard to beat Navy One's units. Relative brightness is better than 95%, clarity, no blue "hue", they are very very good.
