Default Hydromotive Vs Bravo 1

We have a 47 Fountain SC with triple 500's fully loaded with all the options. Currently we are using Hydromotive 4 blade 26p. Cruise is 50-55 mph at 3600-3800 rpm. Top end is 77-80 mph at roughly 4900.
At the end of last year we dinged two props and decided to look for a spare set. Have always had Bravo 1 props with real good luck.

Question is this:

If we were to switch to a set of Bravo 1's what would be a good all around prop size??? OR if we were to try and increase mid range speed and drop a few on top end what set would be the best??

actually the optimum is around 5300, the factory won't tell you that but all the racers will, but troutly is right 4900 is to low you are placing to large of a load on the motors by not letting them spin, and you are costing yourself probobly 2-4mph

If you would like to try out a set of Bravo 1's let me know. I can send you a set of test props to try out, just let me know.

If your current props are stock then a set of stock 26 Bravo 1's would probably spin up close to 5100-5200.

I think you will loose a little on the top end but gain some at cruise speed.

Lightbulb Labbed finished only> five blades<

The five blade props are great for cruising and midrange accleration.

handling is supeior with a five blade and planing time is great, you will lose speed on the top end though.

our Five blade prop comes Lab Finished Only.
no hub ,use the same insert as the Bravo-one

cost is 1,350.00 each with 25.00 shipping on each prop.

This would be a expensive set of props, but they sure would be fun especially when the boat is loaded down.

we will custom work the 26 pitch five blades to spin up to 5,100 rpm like the guys mentioned ,this is where you will get the maximum performance out of your motors.

Its a fountain, they love hydromotive's. Beak Boater had better luck with Hydromotive's all the way around.

Yeah that was the 35, it actually came with 30 bravo 1's when it was stock. When he put the 540's with whipples he played with a lot of different props from 4 blade to 5 blade, hydromotive and bravos and eventually stayed with hydromotive.
