OSO Snowmobile Bash 2004

Great weather, great snow, great people. No need to say more or talk about the ditch pickle ravine slam. Turtleneck girl called last night and sweater girl was coming over tonight:D :D We had Rob Rambunctious, Brian Vicious, Scott ? Chuck scarab26 and his dad Joe (57 and kept up like a champ) & Me. Plus two of Chucks friends, Jim Morrison and another buddy:D Drove 7 hours and hardly watched the road, we watched Terminator 3 and a few other movies, all going 75 towing a 24ft trailer in the fog. I know this route so well I don't even need to look up but for a few seconds every 10 minutes or so:D Here is what it looked like.

traviss 03-01-2004 04:54 PM

Sup mitch.. Musta survived the trip I see. I went up thursday night in the fog. It wasn't too bad a little muddy and alot of water on some of the trails. Still was able to slap on another 420 miles. Is your ditch pickle still running? I barely had any track clips on mine after I got done riding this weekend.. When the track would ratchet, it would just rip them off  I have to run the track hanging 3/8" off the hyfax, only way to keep from ratcheting, alot tighter then I would like. I just got done putting the missing ones back on  this sled is totaly gonna be worn out after this winter, the only decent thing is the motor, still hasen't let me down  Drive it like ya stole it :D 2750 miles this year and countin ;)

Come to the Great White North for vacation and rent some. Slightly riskier than hammering in a cat.

10 This is grand marais, mi. (not this pic, this is Holland) we have at least 4ft in the woods still.

Downtown42 03-01-2004 05:18 PM

One of my favorite H-58 road Munising to G Marais
Looking at my Dunes Saloon sweatshirt now. The guy that has a brewery there.

MitchStellin 03-01-2004 05:18 PM

Traviss...don't talk about the ditch pickle action shots. I was 7ft in a ravine in a river up to my calf when a nice jump turned into a huge hole. No damage but to my ego and next year it is a Ski Doo REV if I have to steal one. I have 10,000 miles on the t cat and it is all new underneath but those REVs are like a caddy on pavement:D I will own one or I won't ride again.:D

Hey Downtown, thats where we meet sweatergirl and pissed off her husband:D I have about 10 of those, Chris (owner) and I are good friends. The cabin is my old one, I have 4 acres on the bay now and have to build this summer again. This place rules. The groomers in Munising were both down and we were warned to stay away at the Bear Trap.

Downtown42 03-01-2004 05:23 PM

post 19 doesn't look like GMarais. Theres gotta be more snow up there?

Downtown42 03-01-2004 05:24 PM

AWESOME

MitchStellin 03-01-2004 05:24 PM

DT, next year you need to join us, we can find a good rental for you are I may keep the T Cat and rent it for drinks at night.:D We rode all this sober as a nun, no screwing around with thousands of sledders on their last weekend. This will be my 5th to the last if the snow holds out.

MitchStellin 03-01-2004 05:25 PM

No, 19 is at my house in Holland, MI and there is no snow now!!!

Downtown42 03-01-2004 05:26 PM

took it like this :D This was early winter :D

Camera in left hand running wide open with one hand  I had to follow in the footsteps of my mentor mitch :D

MitchStellin 03-01-2004 07:02 PM

Hey Cord, I wish you could have made it, it looked like it might rain but it didn't. I am pretty sure I told you but if I didn't you can kick my a$$. Now I feel bad. The year is not over so if you want another knee twister we can arrange it:D I took the pic like Traviss said, I was on a long, straight road with one hand on the gas and the other on the camera. It was easy since the road was plowed and smooth. That was only 7000 rpms, it will go to 9000 and that is about 120 and I am not taking a pic at that speed no matter what.:D Next year we will get more people, this is the inaugural year. I want to do it until I am bed ridden...then I'll put a motor on that too:D Hey, Chucks dad Joe was a great rider and a great guy to have along. He loves to talk and if you saw him you would think he was 45. You always wonder when people bring their dad but this guy could hang with anyone...even Chuck who has a death wish.:D :D

traviss 03-01-2004 07:55 PM

mitch.. I was a the dealer today. they had the new brochures. Ski doo will have a 1000 SDI sled for 2005. they call it the "RT" chassis, but it looks identical to the rev. 165hp they claim.

here is a link for ya.
