Last year, mine went up about 45% on the beach in belmar, nj. MV you said it right about the waterfront property in NJ. Yes, i realize that my property increased in value above the mean in crease in town, but dammit, it sucks to be paying more. I wont realize my extra value till i sell it......

Shane, Got mine in the mail today also. My assessment went up over 100k but the taxes only went up $72.00.
I guess I wont grieve it
My house in Bolton Landing is worth 5x what my house in Albany was worth and the taxes are still half of what I paid for a house with a view of my neighbors instead of the Lake

Consider yourself very lucky Bob. Spoke to Dan D. and he said that 400 people in Pilot Knob fought their re-assessment and got virtually no where. He said some people saw increases over $10,000! He also said my house over there would result in me paying over $25,000 in taxes! He is looking in to getting a guy in from Rochester who's sole career is fighting this stuff. If that is the case I may be in on hiring this guy.

NYS has loads of waterfront property if there
is 1000miles of lake and oceanfront and I tax it yearly
at 200.00 a foot mind you thats really really low
5280 x 200.00 x 1000mi = $1,056,000,000.00
I'm sure there is more that 1000mi of lakefront
