Looks promising. I wonder if the ECU needs re-programming?

First-year HO's had forged cranks or forged pistons (can't remember which) while the non HO did not.
Second-year (and later) 496's came with the same hard parts regardless of reg or HO.

Buy the boat you found. Add a supercharger (anybody's supercharger) but have Whipple do the ECM work.

Yes, you will need to run premium fuel with a supercharger - unless you run an extremely low bost pressure. You can address this with Whipple and he can maybe give you the ability to run a low boost pulley and a normal boost pulley with the same ECU calibration. This would allow you to drop a 2 psi pulley on for a weekend of grandmother long-distance sightseeing trips on 87 octane - and a 5 psi pulley for 93 octane racing.

seems like a lot of B.S. when you can just bolt on some heads and be done w/ it.. plus what kind of hp are you going to get w/ a 2 psi pully w/ a 375 hp 496 ??

If you are going to pay more than $2000 more for the HO, save your money, get the Mag and then when you are off warranty, get our new aluminum heads, manifold and cams that will easily put the MAG at 500+. Check out
www.raylarengine.com and put your savings in the bank until you are ready to go faster!

Guys:
The first 100 pairs are being offered at $2650.00 per pair complete with all valves springs, retainers, guide plates etc. These are out of the box, bolt on go heads, no CNC or valve work needed. I am flying to Ohio next Wednesday to approve the first pairs out of the finish machining process and we will be shipping as soon as we finish our durability tests that are ongoing now. Check out the website www.raylarengine.com We don't believe in magic, just good parts!
Thanks
Ray @ raylar
